I am the poetry man…

Whipping out the brilliant poetry…as fast as I can!

I take you to places we may have both shared…

Perhaps…even to places that you’ve never dared.

To go to in your own little mind…

Relax…little “boo-boo”…God will touch you in his own time!

Don’t be a big baby…even if you’re a full grown man…

You need to connect to your insides…to be all that you can!

A “Wuzzie” would love ballads about flowers and poems full of fluff,

But I don’t want to get into any of that stuff.

I want to pull back the layers that time stripped away,

Down to the little boy I was roaming my neighborhood street to play.

Who knew so long ago...and before so many wrong roads taken...

That I would turn my back on the one thing...I shouldn’t have forsaken.

Back when life was headed at me in hyper-drive...there was no ignoring...

Suddenly…while drinking cool water from a garden hose…pouring.

Life’s true meaning hit me…in my backyard…back when I was a kid.

And I rattled off crazy poetry from the top of my head…I promise I did!

But I put it away…cause what is a poetry artist anyway?

Even as a Third or Fourth Grader…that seemed stupid or (*)____.

But…what if you could use your poems to make people think?

Or bring people back from disaster…at the very brink!

What if they had a purpose…or just took you back to a good time?

Then perhaps poetry…would be a good thing…even for a Manly mind.

This is my Mission…this is my Quest…
