Working as an infant teacher in a Head Start Daycare a few years ago I saw a lot of the baby gadgets. One of my favorites for snack time was the Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder. Later when I had my daughter I presented it to her and she just loved it. Especially with cherry popsicles on a warm day.

What it is?
It’s baby mesh feeder. It’s plastic handle small enough for your wee ones hands, with a mesh bag at the other end. The feeder mesh bag has holes so small only the juices, taste, and occasionally a very small amount of mush (such as from peaches) of what’s inside are let out.

The handle clips to the base and inside you can put; cooked carrots, apples, pears, peaches, bananas, pineapple and many other fruits, vegetables, snacks, and even cooked meals inside to give your 5 to 24 month old a good half an hour of sucking and chewing enjoyment. Hot or cold it doesn’t matter.

Not a meal replacement
This should not substitute for an entire meal in any circumstance. I use it only before or after feeding his actual meal. This should also not be a baby-sitter. Do not leave your baby unattended when using this product.

Teething
Ice cubes are great when your baby is teething. The handle won’t become too cold for a babies hand, but inside his sore mouth and gums, the cold ice cube will be more then welcome.

Clean-up
Clean up can be time consuming and may be of concern for people constantly on the go. I always gave this to her while he is in a high chair. The juices can get everywhere while baby swings the feeder around so the tray always becomes messy and sticky. Cleaning up the actual feeder is what takes the longest though. It can be difficult to remove some foods from the mesh bag. Simply placing in the dishwasher will not be sufficient. I would spend a few minutes removing food, rinse in sink and then spend a few more making sure everything is out cleaning with soapy water and then placing it in a container with water and a small amount of bleach to sanitize. I let it hang to air dry before placing in plastic bag until the next use.

It is a pain to clean and may not seem worth it to place messy foods inside but the enjoyment your baby will get from this small little baby feeding tool will make it all worth it.
