My silly, very muddy boy.
My silly, very muddy boy.

There is nothing more satisfying than sitting on the fence of the paddock watching horses play. My boy, Zach, is particularly fond of mud. He loves everything about it, rolling in it and it seems like there is some way he gets it on his face... although I'm not sure how he does that. I spend hours cleaning him only for him to go back out to the paddock and roll in the mud again.

One day, I went out to the back paddock to grab Zach but there were several horses in the way. They all wanted attention before I could get to my muddy horse. I was surrounded by muddy horses, covered in mud by horses who loved attention. They cornered me into a patch of the paddock that I sank into the mud.

I was knee deep in mud by this point and Zach had made his way over to me by now. He wanted his attention and was not going to wait anymore. He was completely caked with mud, although now that I was knee-deep in mud, this didn't seem to matter to me anymore. He came over and for once he stood still while I tried to mount him but I couldn't because I was so stuck in the mud.

One of the ponies came over so I grabbed onto Izzie and I mounted her. Izzie was short enough for me to mount and I managed to get on her to pull myself out of the mud. Zach was so jealous that the rolled in the mud even more. The more attention I gave another horse, the more he rolled. He knew how annoyed I would be to groom him again. When I got to Zach, he promptly nuzzled me and gave me a little push until I fell face first in the mud.

My trainer came out to the back paddock to find Zach and I both caked in mud. We are two of a kind.
