Mudgee is located in New South Wales, 3 1/2 hours from Sydney. Mudgee is known for the many wine cellars, and is famous for its full-bodied reds, and wonderful Charddonnay that is the most popular white wine produced in the area. Mudgee is also known for the production of fine wools, lamb, venison, olives and silver perch. Along with the magnificent vineyards and lush vegitation, you can see some of the most amazing buildings, that have been classified by the National Trust. Community Markets is held at the beautiful Lawson Park in November. Here you can visit local growers, arts and craft booths, and second hand stalls. This event is a great one to visit while you are in Mudgee. The Farmers Daughter BBQ is held in October. There will be live entertainment with Black Rose, and a variety of fine BBQ dishes, that you will be sure to enjoy. You may want to visit the Mudgee Wine Festival that is held in September, where you can sample some of the finest wines in the world.
