income we can build and we join a program, excited that we are finally going to

earn a retirement income. Yet despite all the hard work and countless hours in

front of the computer, we just can’t seem to recruit the way that we were

expecting.

TRAFFIC EXCHANGES

Traffic exchanges are not the most effective manner in which to recruit new

members to your MLM program, however you should be able to get new signups

if you are willing to put in some time to surf.

You will want to signup for a handful of manual traffic exchanges, such as

Trafficswarm. It is important to join manual exchanges rather than autosurfs, as

manual surfing will yield better results. If you join as a free member, then I

recommend that you surf for at least 2 hours a day. If you upgrade your

membership, then you may be able to see results surfing as little as an hour per

day.

BLOGS

Consider a blog your own personal advertising space on the net. Anyone is

capable of creating their own blog and using it to drive traffic to their main

website. Basically, it’s like having your own free website that you can use to

publish your thoughts.

You can write a small article and include a bio box at the end of the article

containing a link to your main website. If you continue to add content fairly

regularly, search engines may list your website in their directories.

There are plenty of websites that will let you create and publish your free blog, like blogger.com, wordpress.com, and others.

ARTICLES

I can’t say enough about the power of article marketing. Writing your own

articles and having them published all over the net will bring you free traffic

forever. When writing articles, be sure to include a resource box at the end of

your article. This will tell the reader a little bit about yourself and you can also

include a link to your website.

If you feel uncomfortable writing your own articles, you can purchase articles

from companies such as JustArticles. These articles will be professionally written

for you and you can then include your resource box at the bottom.

Once you have your article in hand, start submitting to as many article

directories as you can. Some of the larger article directories include EzineArticles

and GoArticles. You’ll want to write and submit at least one article a week.

If you feel as though the submission process gets tedious, consider purchasing

article submitter software. Just Articles also has a submission service where for a

fee, you simply have to email an employee of JustArticles your articles and they

take care of the rest.

PAY PER CLICK ADVERTISING

The most common type of pay per click advertising is Google Adwords. When

you purchase an ad, Google will list it in its directory under the sponsored links

section.

When a visitor searches Google for a keyword related to your website, your ad

will appear. You only pay for these ads only if someone clicks on your

advertisement. You set the price of how much you are willing to pay per click

and how much you are willing to spend each day.

Google Adwords is a science. You have the potential to make thousands if not

millions if your advertising is done correctly. However, you can also lose a lot of

money if you are not sure what to do. Before beginning an Adwords campaign,

I recommend purchasing a guidebook such as Beating Adwords.

LIST BUILDING PROGRAMS

One of the best ways to advertise your site is to email your opportunity to your

list of opt-in subscribers. However, if you are new to online marketing, you will not

have a readily available list of interested customers. One way to work around

this dilemma is to join a list directory such as listexplode.com or

yourluckylist.com. Make sure you take advantage of the one time offer when

you join. For a fee, you will be able to email thousands of subscribers 2-3 times

a week.

Perhaps you are looking to send your email advertisement only once. Maybe you

want to send your email and be guaranteed that your emails are opened.

FORUMS

If you are looking to drive even more traffic to your site, and I know you are,

then you will want to become a member of at least 5 online forums and start

making posts. The Warrior Forum, WAHM and Online MLM are just a couple of

forums that you should consider joining.

Once you sign up, you will want to create a signature file. This is similar to the

author resource box when submitting articles. It will contain a link and a short

description of your website. Each time you make a contribution to the forum

discussions, the signature file will be attached to your post, thus creating many

links pointing back to your site.

LEADS

Before you visit a lead supplier and place an order, you will want to take the time

to research. Some important things to consider when purchasing include the

quality and age of the leads. Quality leads have already expressed an interest in

joining an mlm program. You’ll also want to make sure that your lead is “fresh”

and has recently requested more information. If leads have already been bought

and sold and have already been inundated by offers of other marketers, they are

far less likely to be responsive to your offer.

Purchasing quality leads can be a great way to recruit new members to your mlm

if you are willing to pick up the phone and personally call the lead. At times this

may seem difficult, especially if you have little sales experience. If that is the

case, then I recommend composing a pre-written script that you can “read” over

the phone.

OFFLINE ADVERTISING

Internet marketers often overlook offline advertising because they are trying to

promote an online opportunity. However, members of the online community are

often bombarded by advertisement after advertisement of an assortment of

offers. This usually becomes overwhelming and the online member often

disregards many advertisements that are sent their way.

On the other hand, your advertisement is much more likely to stand out if you

choose to advertise offline. Advertising could be as simple as distributing flyers

or business cards to as many people as possible.

Purchasing advertisements through your local newspaper can also provide a

source of traffic. The effectiveness of your advertisements will most likely

increase over time as potential customers begin to see your ad repeatedly and

remember what you have to offer.
