Hotel Taj Mahal Palace under attack
Hotel Taj Mahal Palace under attack

Hundreds of people died in terrorist’s attacks. Countries facing similar attacks offered help to India but help was refused politely on the pretext that India was competent enough to deal such activities. The apparent advantage that India would have been benefitted by taking help from other countries was in exposing the terrorists and their mentors to the rest of the World and no country can deny the facts if these were placed in front of them by their own investigation agencies. There is no doubt in India’s ability considering resources and expertise available in the country but there are doubts considering the political unwillingness and deep-rooted corruption in the every sphere of administrative and political system. All Indians salute the police personnel, NSG, ATS and Marcos commandos who fought bravely with terrorists for 59 hrs and several among them lost their lives fighting terrorists. Reports emerging from several sections pointed out that situation could be dealt without big loss of life and huge expenditure incurred in carrying out “Operation Cyclone”. This attack was of different nature and this is expected that there may not be a perfect way of handling it especially for those who are facing it first time. If one is not expert in such activities, there is nothing wrong in seeking co-operation from other countries that have experience of tackling such problems. Ten terrorists are now dead but they have already done the damage they were asked to do by the terrorist organizations of the neighbouring countries. The crisis has left behind few questions to be answered by the Indian politicians, security agencies, ruling parties of state and central governments, and also by those who are behind carrying out such terrorist activities.

Terrorism: If one considers honestly, the problem of terrorism has political reasons for its birth in India and elsewhere. The following reasons are of major concern for continued problem in India are listed below:

1. India’s support to revolutionaries in Bangladesh and war against Pakistan in 1972 Bangladesh War

2. Occupation of Kashmir by Pakistan (POK)

3. India’s support to Afgan Govt. During pre-taliban regime

4. Religion based politics by political parties in India

5. Spread of hatred by politicians of India and Pakistan towards people of other countries

6. India’s foreign policies

7. India's increasing closeness with USA i.e. close ties with America

8. Release of terrorists under pressure

Terrorists: Young, uneducated and unemployed boys are recruited by terrorist organizations and religious poison is injected in their body and mind. It is fed in their innocent minds that their religion is in danger from other religion. They have to kill the people of other religion to save their own religion and even to sacrifice their lives to save their religion. It is also fed to their brains that if they die fighting and killing people, they will go to heaven and their sacrifices will be written in golden letters in the history. However, young boys before they get trapped by these terrorist organizations should remember few things given below.

1. Terrorists dying in terror activities will never get a place in the heaven by killing innocent people. They will go by all means to the hell only. Natural justice is very clear. You will reap whatever you sow.

2. Martyrs get respect and love from people but all the terrorists get a death i.e. by no means respectable.

3. Terrorist activities can not destabilize countries like India but can temporarily create minor upsets.

4.By killing hundred or thousand people, terrorist can never destabilize a country.

5. Terrorists should understand that they are being utilized by few to achieve their vested interests.

6. All the people experience the sorrows of Hell and happiness of heaven only on this earth in their lifetime.

7. Terrorist dies a anonymous death and make their close relatives and parents sad by their activities. See the irony, terrorists died in Mumbai blast failed to get 6' x 3' piece of land for graveyard as none was ready to give this piece of land to them and their own country refused to recognize them or to receive their dead bodies.

Crisis management

Always lack of coordination between security agencies is apparent in handling such crisis. If we analyse the shortcomings noticed during recent Mumbai attacks, the following points emerges for consideration:

1. Intelligence agencies are always blamed for their in-activities or inefficiencies. However, IB informed a month in advance that "Taj hotel" is on hit list of terrorists. However, no action was taken on this report neither by central nor by state government.

2. Innocent people were killed by the terrorists on railway station. This figure could have gone much higher if railway forces did not have put stiff resistence. These terrorists could have been killed at railway platform itself if the railway police men were armed with AK 47 rifles.

3. Terrorists possess AK 47 or AK 56 rifles but policemen have either junk rifles, guns, revolver or wooden sticks. Why not policemen equipped with sophisticated arms are posted on public places where loss of life could be enormous in the event of such attacks.

4. NSG commandos were sent from Delhi and it took considerable time to plan a full fledged attack on terrorists. Why these NSG commandos are posted in the security of VVIP's? Why not a different security force is formed for security of these VVIP's? Why not NSG like commando units are placed in all big cities?

5. Lack of coordination between state and central forces is always a reason of concern. Demand for a fedral Agency is being made for a long time. There are lots of agencies and organizations, what's wrong if a coordinating agency is formed for the security of non-VVIP's.

You failed to mention Muslim and Hindu religious extremists who are fueling the fires.

Relph deeds, I made religion based politics responsible for the terrorism. It points out towards religious extremism.
