Mumps is a contagious disease characterized by a painful swelling of the salivary glands. Mumps commonly attack children from ages 5 to 10. This causes discomfort in the neck, ear and jawbone.

Most cases of this disease are not serious but this may also affect other parts of the body.Mumps can attack the central nervous system causing fever, nausea and headaches.It can cause painful swelling when it appear in one or both testicles of an adult male. Mump can infect the ovaries.It can rarely makes a man or woman sterile.

Cause of Mumps : Mumps is caused by virus in the saliva of an infected person.

Symptoms appear after 2 to 3 weeks after exposure with the Mump virus.

  • Fever
  • Pain when opening the mouth.
  • Lastly, the area of the neck below the ears begin to swell.

Recommended Treatments :

  • Rest
  • Drink large quantities of liquids
  • Strengthen the immune system by taking bee propolis, aloe vera juice, Vitamins A, C, and E.
