What Is The Murder Weapon?

Corn, Wheat, Soy, and other harmful ingredients are often included in pet food as a cheap filler with no nutritional value to a cat or dog. These companies were, and still are, adding these toxic ingredients to pet foods and claiming the pet foods to be a healthy choice for your pet when the pet foods are actually killing our pets.

What Is The Status Of The Menu Foods Settlement?

There is a proposed Settlement, which must be objected to by September 12, 2008, that awards pet owners a dab of money for the loss and suffering of their pets. The proposed Settlement has included (#17 Dismissal with Prejudice and Release of Claim ) which is nothing more than a way of dismissing any and all claims against most pet food companies and pet food distributors.

What Is #17 Dismissal with Prejudice and Release of Claim About?

If the court approves the proposed Settlement of Menu Foods no one will be able to make a claim or suit against any of the companies listed in the "Murderers" section of this page. If your cat becomes ill eating Iams products (for example) you are out of luck. Since there is no regulatory body governing the pet food industry the proposed Settlement would allow Iams to manufacture and distribute pet food with old work boots (for example) as the main source of protein and antifreeze as a preservative while listing all the ingredients as "healthy" for your pet. As a cat owner, you could do nothing about what Iams has done to your cat, nor could you make sure someone enforces "truth in advertising".
