Backache is a discomfort in any area of the spine. The most common type of backache is caused by muscle strain. When the muscle of the lower back are stretched too far, they go into spasm, causing pain. This type of backache most frequently result from tension, improper bending or lifting, sports injury or poor posture. Constant pain can be confused with rheumatism but the causes which produce them may be different.
