Are you searching for a way to give a comprehensive music education to your homeschool students? A musical education can be an important and essential component to any fulfilling education. However, you should go online and search for the wide variety of music resources that are available for homeschool educators who are looking for ways to add a music element to their comprehensive education.

But how can you ensure that your music work will constitute viable credits in your homeschool education? First, you need to make sure that you are meeting the qualifications of a homeschool credit. In order to make sure that your music education qualifies for viable credits, you need three things: documentation, proof and a complete portfolio.

Documentation

You need to document what the music course has covered and what has happened throughout the homeschool music course. Look for a daily log book that will detail exactly what the course covered, what was learned, what instruments were covered, progress with music scales, reading the music, etc. Whatever the course teaches the student needs to be recorded for future credit qualification.

What proof do you have that the student learned anything during the class? How can you show that the musical education was transferred to the student in an effective manner? Just as you need to demonstrate an advancement in overall learning in traditional academia, you will need to document and prove a growth in musical education. Create a testimony that will show the music education. The portfolio that you create will be the evidence of this testimony. You want to make your evidence of learning as concrete as possible.

The final portion of the music education credit will be the student’s portfolio. You will want to incorporate substantial evidence of the documentation and proof of the overall music course. The portfolio should include the daily log book of what transpired during the music course, along with evidence to show education and an overall summary sheet of the course. For a music course, a standard test to read music scales or musical notes can qualify or perhaps a recording of the musical technique can help to show evidence of the education. Credit qualification needs to give a high amount of detail in order to demonstrate the education given.

Stablishing A Good Musical Foundation

Common sense should also play a large role in how you gain music credit with your homeschool education. Look for other local homeschool or online resources that currently offer musical education courses that you can take advantage of. In the beginning, you can establish a good musical foundation by teaching the basic music techniques and information. Through all of this education, the documentation and portfolio created will give your homeschool student the credit that he or she deserves for a comprehensive homeschool musical education.
