Jimmy Page is known as the lead guitarist of Led Zeppelin. Some of the genres he plays are: Folk Rock, Blues Rock, Hard Rock and others. He Plays many instruments such as : Guitar, harmonica, sitar, hurdy gurdy, mandolin, dulcimer, theremin, bass, banjo, pedal steel guitar. His choice of guitars include: Gibson Les Paul, Dane Electro, Fender Telecaster, Gibson EDS-1275.
Jimmy Page is my hero and is ultimately one of the most influential guitarist aside from Hendrix. He infuses many styles together such as blues and rock. His music includes The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, Coverdale Page, The Firm and Page Plant. Some of the best songs he has written include my favorite song The Rain Song, Misty Mountain Hop, The Ocean, Achilles Last Stand, The Song Remains The Same, The Immigrant Song, and Going To California.
Jimmy Page has worked with so many musicians like Jeff Beck, Paul Rodgers, The Black Crowes, David Coverdale and of course Robert Plant. He is also in the Rockumentary: It Might Get Loud. I am looking forward to see that. Too bad it couldn't of been Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, but that's fine.
He has been inducted in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for The Yardbirds and for his band Led Zeppelin. He also has a Grammy. He's won many other awards for his outstanding guitar work such as Mojo, Kerrang and others. He has been on many, many magazines over the years. I actually own a vintage Guitar World Magazine (1988) in fair condition.
Jimmy Page was a guest guitarist at the Olympics and played guitar on stage with a British pop star (Leona Lewis). He recently played on stage with Jeff Beck doing two songs (The Immigrant Song, Becks Bolero). He is a real great guitarist and is very inspiring.
Here's a video of Page/Plant doing one of the versions of The Rain Song! If I could write a song like that I would spread my wings and fly...
