My Autistic Son's NAET Treatments
78NAET Overview
In October of 1983, Dr Devi Nambudripad developed NAET in response to her own illnesses.
She was trying to find a cure for several conditions that had plagued her for many years.
The resulting treatment was a combination of kinesiology, nutrition and chinese accupuncture or accupressure.
She named it Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique or NAET as it has come to be known for obvious reasons.
The theory behind this is that allergies cause most of the health issues that plague us today.
The kinesiology part which is basically muscle testing to determine what you are allergic to.
The allergy is then removed using accupuncture/accupressure.
After that there is a 20 minute period where the allergen is placed on your skin.
When all this is completed, the allergen then has to be avoided for 24-30hrs.
On retesting, you should not be allergic to the item anymore and any symptoms that you may have exhibited in the past, should disappear.

Implications for Autism
As no one knows for sure, what is causing Autism, it is possible that it may be allergy related, either to the immunisations or some environmental toxin.
Dr Nambudripad did a study on 30 Mute children with Autism.
Out of the 26 that actually finished the NAET treatments, 23 had their diagnosis of Autism revoked.
This is encouraging news for parents with Autism.
The initial testing for allergens will tell you whether or not your child may have some chance of improvement.
It is not easy to do NAET on some children with Autism as they won't stay still for the required period. In instances like this, a surrogate is used.
It is possible to treat for NAET using a surrogate. Basically what happens is that the treatments are done to the surrogate while they are holding onto the Autistic child. The effects of the treatment are transferred to the child. The muscle testing is done in the same manner.
Nathan's NAET so far
Nathan has completed 17 or 18 of the required treatments.
I believe there are 50 in total.
So far, I have seen a greater clarity in the small amount of speech that he does have.
I have also noticed that the stomach distention that has plagued him for years has gone. He is a chunky little teddy bear but at least he does not have to live with the discomfort that the abdominal distention must have been causing him.
An example on how clear his speech is becoming: Since October of last year, I have noticed Nathan standing at the window looking out saying something that sounded like "critisize".
This upset me as I didn't like him repeating at fairly frequent intervals a word which appears so negative.
Last Friday morning I took him back for another treatment, he had been treated for caffeine and spices the day before, I was tickling his tummy in the waiting room and talking to him and he turned to me and said "Christmas Time"
Then he said "Christmas Day", both as clearly as if you or I had said them.
Then I realized, he associated the snow outside with Christmas, and all this time he hadn't been saying "critisize", he had been trying to say "Christmas Time".
That was one heck of a revelation!
How wonderful. I know that it is only a matter of time now till his speech improves more and with speech will come a greater social awareness.
I will update every three months so any parents interested in trying NAET will know how it is going.
I really think this is a treatment that is going to have a major impact on Nathan.

I was looking for pictures of autistic children when i ran across your web page. I needed the pictures for my research presentation i began to read and realized what challenges you and your child must have faced. What a true gift god had given you and how i am sure he must have truly blessed you and your family. Autism is very hard to cope with i can only guess i have never know any one with this but i have read stories and done tons of research. I hope that god will be with you an d your family and continue to bless you all. Your son is truly god sent. I hope you don't mind but i would like to use his picture in my presentation. god bless you.
Thank you for your comment. I don't mind if you use his picture, it would be nice if you could put a credit in your presentation to my blog on Autism at www.autisticadventures.blogspot.com. Thanks Donna
I have been impressed with the obvious improvement with Nathan since the commencement of his treatments. There is something with the NAET that seems to be working for him. I hope as the treatments continue ,he will continue to blossom
Thanks rehab nurse, we are getting closer to the end and I know that I am seeing changes and his speech therapist says the same.

Hi there from Canada: we started NAET treatments in Feb. 08 with my 4 yr. old son who has ASD. We are very happy with his progress so far; his awareness has really increased, his fine motor skills have improved, better articulation, better receptive language (i.e. following directions better); sleeping a lot better; more energy, more social and watching other children more ... other than the GFCF diet this has been the best intervention we have tried so far... I plan to take him once/week until we've done all the treatments there is to do. Our NAET specialist is also a Homeopathic Dr. too and she's GREAT! Thanks for sharing your story; I hope more parents find out about NAET and start to treat their children right away when they are first diagnosed.
Excellent Dan's mom. I have noticed huge changes in Nathan and I am so pleased that you could affirm this by the improvements that you have seen in your son.
Let me know how you are getting on please.
I am starting my second son John in the second week of July. He has Autism and ADHD so I am hopeful that we will see big changes in him too.
Thank you for your comment, you have made my day.
