My Black Tripot and Garden

These fotos got a story and all of the story will be told soon as time comes available.

Tri pot Cooking

This picture show one of my favourite pastimes on weekends.

Tripot food is one of my favorites and I use any type of meat in it even fish.

Normally I used wood logs in my cooking proses if my veggies are frozen but if it is fresh from my garden I use charcoal from last weekends braai "BBQ".

The spices and mix that I used for a potjie is salt, pepper, black pepper, Tabasco sauce, chutney, mix Herbs, parsley, coriander, worcestershire sauce, curry, bay leaves, garlic, cinnamon and dried Comfrey leaves.

Here in South Africa if you tell people that you going to have a potjie you can expect to see everybody you have told and that you haven't told. South Africans like a potjie (Tripot).

Cooking is a bit slow and the time for it to get done is used for chatting and drinking.

Some guys or gals drink so much that they will pass out but when they wake up they want to now if you did keep him or her some potjie.

It is funny that these people didn't now what they talk about but can remember the potjie.

Tripot view veggies

I do normally cook potatoes, carrots, beans, eggplant, spinach, green pepper, chili’s, cauliflower, cabbage, beetroot, maize, pumpkin, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, lemon squash, sweet melon, onions and spring onions with my potjie. I have seen that they called a potjie in Australia a camp oven.

In the picture you could clearly see the substances except for the meat wich was at the bottom of the tripot.

My own onions

These onions was hang to dry and was coming from my garden and some of them was use in the tripot.
