Do you have one?

One of the other hubbers had a GREAT idea and that was to make a bucket list, and I decided that I would take that idea and make my own bucket list.  Thanks wesleycox for the idea!  Reading his really made me think about my life and where I want it to go from here.  I may only be 26 years old but I still have a lot to do before I pass on from this life into the next, so why not make a bucket list of things that I want to do before I die?  So here is my own bucket list and I will link wesleycox’s bucket list to mine so you can read his as well.  Make your own, bucket list!

Maui 2 day Honeymoon

A picture from Maui.
A picture from Maui.
Isn't it beautiful? Yep Maui again.
Isn't it beautiful? Yep Maui again.

My Bucket List

1. Have a REAL honeymoon:

When my husband and I married in Hawaii, we didn’t really get to have a honeymoon. We did get to ferry over to another island, Maui, but was only able to stay for two days because of our cats and other obligations. So where do we want our honeymoon? IRELAND!!! And maybe SCOTLAND as well. If we could go to both that would be a dream come true, if not then Ireland for the Honeymoon and Scotland another time.

2. Travel:

My husband and I will be moving around because he is in the military but I would love to travel around the 50 states with my husband. Traveling with my husband would be a lot of fun. And then when we do have children, travel once again with them.

3. Buy our first home in CA:

We will be living in California for the next 3 years and are currently living in an apartment. We have lived in the apartment now for over 8 months almost 9 months and we are ready to move out. The neighbors annoy me and the walls and floors are so thin that we can hear EVERYTHING. So living in a house would be a great thing, plus we’ll get to have WAY more room for all of our stuff, because we have A LOT of stuff, including stuff that we sadly cannot put out and my husband wants a garage so that he can really begin his scroll sawing fun. Plus we want to decorate a house that we CAN decorate ourselves since we couldn’t do that while living in Hawaii or here in the apartment.

4. Have children:

When the time is right, we want to start our family. We want to have two children, one boy and one girl. We already have names picked out and when we are ready we want to start our family. We also have come to the conclusion that if we do end up with 2 boys or 2 girls, we will try one last time to get the opposite.

5. Go back to school for my writing:

At the moment because of money, I won’t be able to go back to school like I wanted so I will have to wait to go back to school. I do hope I’ll get to go back before children but if not I will make sure that everything is online and that I do fulfill this dream of bettering myself by taking English classes and Writing classes.

6. Become an actual author:

I want to go to several writers’ conferences, if I can of course, and learn the ways of agents, authors, publishers, and editors. I also want to network and make new friends, even if no one wants to publish or represent me and my work, at least I’ll still have friends who I can write with and talk to.

7. Become an actual author:

I put this twice because I really want this dream to come true; I really want this dream to become a published author to become a reality. I want to share my imagination with everyone, I want to write and publish books that everyone will enjoy. I want this so bad that I will do whatever it takes to make my writing better and wanted by agents and publishers. I am already considering hiring a publisher to help me with my work, to help me proofread and edit to make it better.

8. Raise our children:

I want to raise my children by the side of my husband. I want to raise them to be their best, to follow and achieve their dreams, to be sweet, caring, and nice to all, even those who may and will hurt them, and also of course teach them how to defend themselves.

9. Travel:

I again want to travel, this time with my family outside of the 50 states. I would love to travel to as I have said before Scotland and maybe Ireland again with the kids this time. Maybe Paris, Italy, China, Japan….I would love to also maybe visit the places my husband has visited while on deployment.

10. Hopefully go on a cruise:

I want to challenge myself and hopefully go on a cruise. I do get sea sick and am afraid that I won’t be able to go on a cruise while alive. So I want to challenge myself and go first on a short cruise then a longer one then a longer one with my husband, if money allows of course.

11. Settle down in one state with my husband and children:

When my husband finally gets out of the military in 14 years, we will have to choose which state we want to settle down in for the rest of our lives. So as we move we will be looking for which state we BOTH enjoyed the most and then choose which to settle down in.

12. BE THE BEST WIFE FOR LIFE:

It isn’t really something for a bucket list, more like a goal but I will add if here because I always do my best to achieve this. I want to be the best wife for my husband because he does deserve to have the best wife for the rest of his life. He has chosen me and so I will strive to be the best for him.

13. Take up a new hobby:

It’s always fun to start up a new hobby or craft. I have already done this by doing some fun engraving art work that I have bought from Michael’s but I want to start other hobbies as I grow older as well.

14. Life my life to its fullest:

I want to walk through life beside my husband, family and friends, living my life to its fullest no matter what. I want to forever more be a child at heart, raise my kids, and love my husband, family and friends, to raise many loving pets of any kind. I want to write my stories and publish them into books for as long as possible. But to live life to its fullest will be one of the best things in the world to accomplish on this bucket list.

Don’t forget to make your own so that you can live your life to its fullest before you die. Enjoy life! Do what it is you want to do, do what it is you want to accomplish, and always love those around you because they are your support and will always be there for you.

Great idea to have a list if you have something to aim for you are more likely to actually hit something. I hope you get to hit all those things on your list, I think you are a good writer and well on the way to becoming an author.

A lot of successful people have said that the first step they took to achieve their goals was to write them all down somewhere they could see them. You may be on to something here girl.

I am a big believer in writing down goals, because it feels really good when you get to cross one out. A sense of accomplishment is great for the spirit. Your hubby is very lucky to have you,..Hope you get that boy and girl right off the bat because childbirth is,..well,..I won't say, might scare you,..LOL.

Great idea. One of these days I need to do this. Oh, if you are looking for a state, may I suggest the great state of Iowa. It does get cold in the winter though. Best of luck! It is great seeing so many family oriented goals.

Hi, my name is Jerry Layton, and, from what I've seen of your writing, you are not in the least bit 'crazed."

Most of what you subscribed to in your bucket list, I could gladly second, aside from ahving children and Ireland.

I am on the threshhold of 82, but there is nothing to prevent me from sharing the emotions of a 26 year old.

It is my stupid hope that I will never die, ( Oops! I am Jewish, and we have a thing called a "nahurrah". It means don't say anything that will jinx you. It's sort of a kosher evil eye.)

Operating on the possibility of longevity and also hoping for immortality, I have the next hundred years already planned out.

Of course, I have to be careful for my wife. She is already 92 (bless her).

I have spent my life as a professional singer and actor and my big wish is to have my own theater and to direct until I'm too feeble to do it. I am a prolific playwright, and I am in process of seeing some of my works being produced, either on Broadway or locally in Florida.

I can sympathize with your love of travel. My wife and I are world travelers. Aside from Africa, there is very little of the civilized would we have not seen. So we sympathize with you.

Grab all you can get.

I applaud your desire to return to school, but let mwe tell you it is more important to live, observe and consume. When it comes to the actual writing, what it will give you is the subject matter. School will only give you the words and technique.

I would like to become the hubpages equivalent of pen pals.

Please visit my site. Read "The Emmys Need and Enema, Obama's season of venom, The Forgotten May Soon Be Forgoten and any other of my reviews.

Keep Writing;keep traveling.

Great hub Crazy! I love the idea of a bucket list, you have inspired me to create my own. One of the number one things on my list will be to become a full time writer as well. But you, like my brother, got an earlier start. Good luck with your list and your writing. Whatever you do, TRAVEL!! See this lovely country and then the world.

I believe you can achieve everything on this list!! Stay motivated! Great idea....I may just create my own (but as the last hub I read is also something I'm writing about I probably won't make it a hub hehe)

Ok, so last spring I bought a book called Creating Your Best Life and the first exercise is to create your own "bucket list." I was going to write a Hub on it, but you (and wesleycox) beat me to it, darn it. I think it's great, really, though. I still may share mine. You're supposed to come up with 100 things & after 6 mos. I only have 16-c'est la vie. It's kinda eerie that my #1 & #2 are, respectively, "write a book" and "travel w/ my husband." Maybe we can all share successes somehow - I'd like to follow how you and others complete items on the list.
