My Childhood Dreams And What I Wanted To Be When I Grew Up

The Most Common Question Of A Child - What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?
Okay, so I don't have as many years under my belt as most people who are on here but I still thought I would make a hub on this because I think it will help us to realise how quickly things can change.
As a child, we are always asked - what do you want to be when you grow up? The average kid usually says a police officer, a fireman, a nurse, a doctor, an astronaut... that kind of thing. We all have dreams and let's face it, dreams are free, so why not?
From the age of 6, I want to be a Vet. Why? Well, I loved (and still do) animals and I thought, what a better way to show that!
By the age of 12 I had decided that maybe I didn't have the stomach for that kind of thing - cutting into animals just didn't seem like something I could see myself doing for a living. But, I still wasn't 100% sure, as any kid at that age tends to be in limbo anyway.
When I was 15 I was studying Biology so I had to disect things like Lamb's Heart, Liver, Kidney and Brain. I managed not to throw up during this whole process but I didn't feel all too comfortable throughout. That was about the time I had confirmed within myself that I wasn't cut out to be a Vet.
I finished school at the age of 16. Most people would call that dropping out but in Australia you can finish school at the end of Year 10. We call Year 11 and 12 College (depending on where you live in Australia of course) and then of course, we have University. I do regret not completing up until Year 12 but I do plan to fix that. I finally know exactly what I want as a career. I want to be a police officer. I plan to study Law & Justice at a TAFE course hopefully next year. I also aim to take the Police Exam in 2010. But I guess we'll see what happens, eh? A lot can change between now and then. As a wise man once told me, "The only certainty in life is change".
