Digg Founder Kevin Rose Explains How Digg Works

Increasing My Traffic with Digg

Ever since I joined Digg I have been banging my head against the wall trying to get traffic to my Uberazzi site using Digg. Like so many people, I added every friend I could and whenever I had some great content to share I would submit to my list of over 1000 friends and would get 2 or 3 shouts.

Even when I submitted exclusive Entertainment content with specially licensed photos of stars at their worst, I would get nothing.

I soon realized that I couldn't shout my entire list of friends all at once and most of the people were not even active.

So here is what I did and I suggest you do the same.

Wipeout your friends list exept for the people who are actively sending you shouts. Make sure you support every single one of those people. They will return the favor whenever they can.

Next, add only those people to your fresh new friends list that have shouted Dugg and commented you in the past.

Check out their profiles, go to their blogs and comment them. Join their other social networking sites and add them to your friends list and support them their too.

Study the people who are the front page of Digg and look for patterns in their activity and pay close attention to the type of stories that are made popular.

Even if you submit stories that are out of your niche, if the content is good, people will look at your profile and see your bio. If they are interested in looking at your websites, they will choose to on their own.

Diggers are cool they will support you once they see your name plastered all over their submissions and comments.
