My Evergreen Melody

A Tale from the Forests
Arthur Gulumian
Songs echoed through the forest’s seed,
Beautiful — majestic T’is indeed
I feel the scent of the old evergreen bark,
Amongst such a place where there lies no shadowing dark
I walk amongst the trees — the everlasting green
Never have I walked amongst something so serene….
I lay aside a nameless and forgotten tree,
One that does not share a mortal’s destiny,
I listen to its tale and paced perfected mastery,
A tale once told by my love — my lost Valkeryie
You are kind old and forgotten evergreen tree,
If only all men could look upon your purity
So familiar you are to me old forest of serenity,
How sweet of you to sing me my Evergreen Melody.

I like your choice of words in this poem, words wrought with power to portray the message you intended, excellent poem.
Thank you Maven. Although I wish I knew how to edit it to your standards. Appreciate the honesty and also the kind words, thank you.
Wesley, always a pleasure to here words from a fellow poet. Thank you.
I agree with Larry-great imagery, Arthur. I also like the lyricism. Overall, a very good poem. Thanks for sharing, Arthur.
Thanks Dohn glad you took a look.
Nice poem. Feeling envious :P I started writing poems again, but stuck in between :P
Your choice of picture is also good. By the way, do you sing too?
Sing? I can but its not that amazing lol. I've never really tried singing that much, what made you ask?
Actually, I was thinking what if one can sing this poem ...
It has the right rhythm. It could probably be a song if added a chorus and was set up in a different fashion, but I see your point of view; it could very much be a nice song.
very beautiful and captivating.
wouldn't edit - it's just old style and to make eight lines rhyme and for it not to jar, plus there are a fair amount of polysyllabic words that fit the meter - not an easy thing. You have a touch my friend....
Appreciate it hotspur, really I do. Thank you for your visit; and thank you Pachuca.

Arthur...Nice imagery, well-paced, but a bit overdrawn and tortured...needs a touch of editing, otherwise a solid effort using images from nature to relate human frailty...Keep hubbin' my man...Thanks, Larry
