My Experiences on Hub Pages
95MILESTONES
Tonight I reached several milestones, the most significant of which is that my statistics show I have had my 50,000th visitor this evening. Also, the slideshow reviews of my photographs have crossed the 25,000 mark, and I have had more than 8,000 comments. I now have 798 fans—close to another milestone. I do not report this to lament nor to brag, since I have no benchmarks by which to compare these numbers. I don't know if they are good, bad, or indifferent. That is why I am sharing them here, in case any of you wanted some type of benchmark.
HUBPAGES
It has been my pleasure to publish 95 Hubs, including this one, in seven months as a Hubber. This has been quite an experience. A friend told me about HubPages and since I had long harbored an inkling to write, I decided to give it a try. One of my fondest memories is when a few veteran Hubbers welcomed me warmly the very first few days. This gave me great encouragement, and so I have tried to pay that forward as much as possible.
HUBS
I would guess I spend an average of about twelve hours on each Hub, including research. I have published in 14 categories—in 8 topics more than in the others—though I was advised early on to specialize. The most response has been to Hubs about Hubbing, Relationships, and God (averaging around 1,000 page views each). In addition, my Hubs about Politics, History, and Art have attracted on average approximately 600 page views each. The others are back around the 400 mark, primarily on Travel, Aviation, Space Exploration, Music, and Baseball.
HUB PAGES
One thing that has surprised me a bit is the coming and going of Hubbers. The folks reading and commenting now are mostly different people than in the first few months. I almost quit once, in a huff about flags on a few of my Hubs. But that got smoothed out and I'm glad I stuck with it. I have read thousands of Hubs, too, so it has proven to be time-intensive. I haven't made much money. That has been a shocking disappointment. But I haven't invested much time in trying to figure out how to do that either. I'm always working on the next Hub. I keep hoping I'll be discovered. I should have learned from my 22 years in the music business. Maybe I need a manager or agent or PR person!
HUBBERS
Nonetheless, they say—whoever they are—that the joy is in the journey. And the journey has been a delight. I surely have enjoyed meeting so many people from around the world, reading their work, reading their comments on my work. The community here has been great. I have no sure fire formula for maximizing page views. Some Hubs that I thought would be well received have been relatively ignored; and some I thought would probably flop have gone over well. One odd thing, but a pleasant surprise, has been that quite a few have looked like flops (according to the numbers) for a month or so and all of a sudden gotten wings.
JAMES WATKINS
I have had two Hubs with over 2,000 page views: "Origin of Christianity" and "When did Christianity Start." There are nine others with over 1,000 page views: "Black Guys with White Girls" "Advice for Success on Hub Pages" "Liberals" "Goodbye my Friends" "Why I Love Women" "Why are Atheist Social Liberals so nasty on Hub Pages" "Art in my Home" "Partition America" and "Sexual Revolution". I've had five real dogs (fewer than 200 page views) including Baseball in America; White Summer II; White Summer: the Red Album; Space Shuttles; and Chicago Cubs Baseball part two. (That's the only time I used a "part two.")
THANK YOU
To close, I would like to thank my readers and friends for the encouragement and support you have given me. I am open to constructive criticism about my writing; photos; length of Hubs; choice of topics; or whatever. Any suggestions would be well received. Thank you all very much for coming to see me. I am grateful to each and every one. God Bless You and Keep You.

heart4theword— Hey! You are my first visitor! I think my Hub White Summer is my best music.
http://hubpages.com/hub/White-Summer
I'm glad you liked the pictures. Thanks for your comments. God Bless You!
James, you certainly deserve the success you have experienced. Funny about the money, though, although you are doing 5 times better than myself.
Needless to say my hubs do not take 12 hours. You are a very patient man. Well done.
katyzzz— I love your Hubs. You create beautiful art. What could be better than that? I guess I'm just not working the system as far as money goes. Lord knows I need some. Thanks for visiting and commenting. :)
thanks James, it's always interesting to read someone's hub experience. "My statistics show I have had my 50,000th visitor this evening" that line can be read two ways!LOL So well done(again) from your 50,001th visitor this evening!
psychicdog.net— You're welcome. Hey, I'm up to 50,012 now! I think I am OCD about stats. Must be from years of being obsessed with baseball. Thank you for coming and commenting.
Wow! 50,000+ visitors, 95 hubs! That's awesome! And you have been with HP for only 7 months.
I must say you really have come a long way!
I wrote this in one of your hubs before but let me repeat it here - I am in awe of the breadth and depth of your knowledge about many things. Thank you for sharing them here.
I also wish to thank you for being one of the first to welcome me here in HP. I really appreciate that.
Congratulations James!
Congratulations James. I applaud your efforts in creating for us excellent, well thought out, researched, interesting, challenging and edifying content. I trust you have only just begun.
Love and hugs,
All I can say CONGRATULATIONS. You should and can be proud of yourself.
You are one of the best writers I have ever known, James.
And I know a lot of them [smiles]
I am glad to have found you here on hubpages.
Thank you for sharing the blessings of the Lord via Hubpages. I would encourage you to keep writing because you have people that need to hear from YOU and no one else can do what you do. You are uniquely made to do it and the Lord can use you to reach the lost for Him. Loves ya Jim.
This is a great hub... as you said, about Hubbing, so I read it! I am glad your God hubs do well, because that is my niche... It is what I love writing about. The no money thing is sorta sad... You say "not much" and I am wondering if you can define "not much" a little more. I write because I love to write, but would sure like to make $$ someday. I have ideas... we will see. Anyhow, I hope you come back again after another milestone with more future feedback. I wish you the best! May you be "discovered" here soon!! God Bless you my HP friend
Congratulations on some well -deserved success James, I hate to hear that you have not made the money you would like to, and this seems to be a recurring theme on HP that I have noticed. You are a great writer though, and think you would do well to get involved in a career in history or maybe even archeology. I always enjoy reading your work.
good job. congrats
jill of alltrades— I've come a long way, baby! You are a great photographer. I have admired your work since you've joined HP. Thank you for your accolades. They are much appreciated. And, you are welcome. :-)
RevLady— Thank you for the congrats, the applause, the love, the hugs, and your gracious, warm words. You are a fine teacher.
Hello, hello,— Thank you! I appreciate the visit and your remarks.
James,
Brilliant work-well done.
msorensson— Wow! That is high praise indeed. You sure know how to lift my spirits. Thank you! :D
no body— You are welcome. In that regard, I am only following my instructions. :)
Wow! Thank you for the laudations. I know what you mean, each of us can do what no one else can do. Each of us has a unique mission. Or as Steve Martin said in "The Jerk" a special purpose. Thanks for the love.
UPStar— Thank you. You write very well on your favorite subject, too. I haven't looked at my Adsense account in months. I can tell you I've never gotten a dime from them. When I hit 10,000 page views (3 or 4 months ago) I checked and I had made nine dollars. That was so discouraging that I didn't look again. I will check it out and let you know.
Scott.Life— Thank you, Scott, for your kind compliments. I would love a career in history or even to teach history, but I have no degree. I never finished high school. I took off on the road with a rock band instead. I am an autodidact.
aware— Thank you and welcome to the Hub Pages Community, my fellow Floridian.
itakins— Thank you for the fine compliments. As James Brown said, "I feel good!"
James you are a fine writer, and you do have the best hub on hubpages. I am ashamed to admit of over 160 posts my most read is "Big Butts" a silly post with over 5,000 readers.
This is a great hub. Although I don't usually comment, I do read, and enjoy them all. You are amazing at allowing others to see and feel exactly what you feel in the words you share. I have known you for many years my friend, you have always amazed me with your talents. Thank you for sharing them with the world!
James,
Congrats on your Hubbing success. I think the main factor in your success is your ability to speak your mind while also keeping the topic real. You are probably one of the most diverse authors Hubpages has been blessed to have as a writer.
Nice Hub James. I am glad you stuck around :) Hercules looks as if he's a real sweetie or is he massive now? If you no longer have him I hope this doesn't upset you.
It is far and few that someone captures my attention and keeps it through all of their writings. You are one of them. Yours was the first one I read when I joined Hub and I have yet to be disappointed. You have shared your knowledge and parts of your life and home with us and the depth of your writings have not only been interesting, but a lesson that only a great writer can give. Congratulations on your success!
Thank you for doing the hubs.
I could tell you spent a lot of time and fine tuned your hubs. I do not spend nearly that amount of time, and I have not had the result that you have had.
A bodyguard? Are you in the Mafia or something?
Keep on hubbing!
muley84— Any why not!? With a title like "Big Butts" I want to go read it right now! In fact I will! :D
5,000 posts is an awesome response. Thanks for sharing that. I often wonder what kind of numbers other folks get (just to see if I am doing this right) and I don't see them posted much. I did see one guy who said he had had 1.4 million hits and he was making about $500 a week.
Thank you for the high praise.
That is awesome, James! I can tell by reading your hubs that you are successful in whatever you set your mind to doing. Though I often disagree ;) with some of your opinions, I do know that you are a straight up guy and an honorable man who is not afraid to make waves to stand up for what he believes in. That is why I am one of the 798 fans.
Wanda Huff— Well, what a pleasant surprise! It's my girlfriend from the 9th grade. How about that. You have warmed the cockles of my heart by leaving these lovely words on this page. Thank you and you are welcome. :D
Tom Whitworth— Thank you, Tom. I always look forward to your comments. My writings may be too diverse. When I was in music, sometimes my albums hopped all over the place in style and some folks in the business were constructively critical of that, saying that people have to know what to expect. Well, as Jimi Hendrix said, "I am what I am."
ethel smith— Thank you! You are always so nice. Hercules is right here. He sits on my lap when I write sometimes. He is going to be seven years old (49 in man years) January 1st. He is 6 1/2 pounds.
JAMES! Awesome! Interesting to hear your stats. I never joined Hubpages for the money. I really enjoy writing and I love this community of talented writers like U!
I believe that if you do the things you love....good things always happen!
Best, G
jiberish— Mine was the first one you read? I didn't know that. How interesting. As you should know, I very much enjoy your Hubs, too. They are consistent and intelligent. Your comments here are most gracious. I am grateful to have read them.
eovery— You are welcome. Your Hubs are good. I like them. And I agree with them. Tony is quite the bodyguard. He looks tough, doesn't he? He is. Thanks for coming by. I'll keep on as long as I can, thanks to encouragement from fine folks such as you.
Connie Smith— Thank you, Connie. It's great to see you are still with us. Nice to hear from you. I really enjoyed reading your comment. 3 times. :D
GPAGE— Thanks! I like your words: "I believe that if you do the things you love....good things always happen!"
I sure have enjoyed getting to know you a bit here on HP. You are the most interesting woman in the world. dos equis
You're a pet lover? I should have guessed! Congrats on the 50,000th hit.
I've nothing to add to what you know about success on Hubpages. The time I have to write is extremely limited, and though I have a few pieces in the making holiday season is here soon during which I'll be busier than ever. There are a good number of pieces on Hub Pages to assist you in generating more income, if that's a goal.
Best to you.
Congrats James good luck on the road to 100,000 visitors!
James I can say unequivocally that I am glad that you decided to stay . Your eloquence is so refreshing ! And I am glad to be a fan !
James, your achievements are very impressive, especially with your having been here only 7 months!
I have received 136,303 views on my articles but have been here 2 years. My larger viewed ones are my health articles related to anxiety disorders, hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue.
My one titled "Anxiety Depersonalization & Derealization, Strange But Common" has had 9,274 reads.
My one titled " Adrenal Fatigue Treatment for Hypothyroid Patients" has been read 5,853 times.
Several of my thyroid disease ones have been read over 2,000 times, the biggest viewed one in that category being this one> "Joint & Muscle Pain, A Common Thyroid Disease Symptom" which has had 4,668 views.
I'm weaker than you by far in the fans area but I stayed so busy writing, due to being on multiple sites, I didn't prompt fan membership due to my not submitting to other's fan clubs. I in-fact didn't start doing the fan thing as a real pursuit until only a few months ago. Same is true of comments - I responded to those being added to my Hubs but wasn't adding mine to those of others. It wasn't really selfishness, it just took me a while to understand the value in it for others and for myself.
You are a great example of quality Hubtivity and Hub-writing!
Oh by the way I just got my 50th page view ! Cool !
I went in and checked again and more specifically my views have been 136,260 as of today (not sure why it showed a bit higher the first time I checked).
I'll also add that my adsense revenue has also always been less than I had hoped for.
Thanks for sharing James, and also for the warm welcome you extended to me as a complete newbie! Good to know we were all here once and you can quite rightly consider yourself one of the veterans now :) xx
Wow! You're doing good, Mr. Watkins! Congratulations! :)
I can't do that. :( I'm torn among hubpages, examiner, 2 blogs on blogger and my dear Flickr photostream!
You go, James!!! :)
James, keeping writing. Even if I am not writing, I am around to learn from your writings.
Enjoyed this very much. It was encouraging to me. I can really relate to this: "But I haven't invested much time in trying to figure out how to do that either. I'm always working on the next Hub."
I keep telling myself I need to spend some time figuring it out, but never do. Thank you for sharing.
A man walks into a bar. Looks around. Asks the Bartender where everyone is.
Bartender says, "At a hangin'."
Man says, "Who they hangin'?"
Bartender says, "Brown Paper Pete."
Man says, "Brown Paper Pete? Brown Paper PETE? Why'n the hell do they call him Brown Paper Pete?"
Bartender says, "'Cause everythin' he wears is made of brown paper ... brown paper hat, brown paper vest, brown paper kerchief, heck, even brown paper chaps."
Man says, "Well, I'll be damned. What they hangin' him for, anyway?"
Bartender says, "Rustlin'."
All that because I couldn't think of a comment for you.
Great hub James and congratulations on the milestones. You know it might be one of those slow burning things with the money. Your work is still out there, it's well worth reading so don't give up on it yet. Here's to you bringing many thousands more page views
Congratulations, James on your milestones. You certainly are a success, no matter what. If you believe that you are success then you are! Your fans, page views, and comments stand as a testament to that!
Many congrats James on your milestone, am glad you stayed as its a pleasure being one of your fans as you are a genuine guy and a good writer, good luck with your future hubs !
James, congratulations on your achievements. Your Hubs are an inspiration to me and i hope that i can be as successful at writing hubs as yourself. I liked reading your stats because you call your hubs with fewer than 200 page views a dog, but i hope i get a few dogs along the way instead of the sleeping puppies that i have currently written. Also,as an amateur photographer i'm pleased that your pictures have been viewed many times as it gives me hope for the future.
In the few weeks that i've been hubbing i have gained a handful of fans but i hope that one day i too can enjoy the a similar fan base to yours,
Well done James.
James, thank you for sharing so much of yourself with those of us in this community. You are quite an intelligent and thoughtful guy who often makes me think a bit. Ilove to read your hubs, and I thank you for your warm welcome to me when I joined up. Keep up the good work!
Wow! James, some milestone indeed! You are very prolific and have raised some very important issues. You have also educated, providing detailed information on historical accounts. You have successfully dovetail your knowledge of history and theology in some highly interesting and informative hubs.
Congratulations, my friend and kudos for a job well done. I feel like I know you even though I have only read your hubs. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Congrats on all your milestones, James!! You've deserved every view and every fan and I am happy to call myself on of them!!! :)
Congrats on these stats. You have some great hubs which are interesting and informative so I see you breaking some new milestones in the future as well. Great work!!
Congratulations! I definitely have Hub envy! You've managed to REALLY impress me and you gave your stats in a very modest, matter-of-fact way. Yet your stats are incredibly impressive! Well done!
Hxprof— Yes, I love my little boy Hercules. Cats are cool, too. Not big on pythons or tarantulas.
Thank you. I look forward to reading your Holiday specials. I have bookmarked about 40 HubPages on "how to make money" here. I guess I ought to actually take the time to read them in one fell swoop.
greatAmerican— Thank you very much! I am honored to have a true patriot visit me.
tony0724— I love you, Tony! I'm refreshed when you visit me. Whatchyoutalkinboutwillis!
JimLow— Thank you for your kind compliments, Jim. I appreciate you sharing your numbers, which are excellent. I rarely see anybody do that and this made me curious but one doesn't know how one is doing relative to the pack without some information. Not that it matters, I suppose.
TONY0724!!! Now you're sandbaggin' me blood!
JimLow— You know what THEY say: you can hope in one hand and [defecate] in the other. I probably shouldn't say that to a man of the Lord. Sorry! :D
merseyblue— Yep, I'm all old timer now—in more ways than one. Thank you and you are welcome. I love it when pretty girls come a callin'. (No offense guys!)
lancelonie— Mr. Watkins? I guess that says it all, folks.
Thank you for the visit and the encouragement, kid. Now where's my rockin' chair? :D
Bhawna Sharma— I have a friend named Vijay Sharma. Any relation? Well, thank you, dear. But I want to encourage YOU to write. Me? I'm almost out of paper.
Ken R. Abell— I'm glad you enjoyed it and were encouraged. You are a great writer, Ken. I very much enjoy your work. You should be famous.
ArchDynamics— Thank you for a fascinating psychological disclosure of yourself.
cally2— Thank you, brother. I agree. I have faith that if I keep plugging away, something good will happen. Now if I could just get that 800th fan . . .
dohn121— Thank you, my friend. I might come up to New York and do the Misty Mountain Hop.
HealthTip— I really appreciate your wonderful comments. Thank you, my friend.
paulgc— I kind of regret calling them "dogs" now. I think that came out the fact that I like them; I think they're good. But for some odd reason, they trail the field substantially. Then again, in any train, somebody has to be at the caboose. :D
Yea, I have been surprised at the slideshow views of the pictures. That pleases me, too. Your photography is great. I enjoy your work. Thanks for everything you said. I feel good.
Congratulation James. What a great achievement. Your hubs are excellent and you deserve it. First, I want to tell you that I learned few things from your hubs that helped me a lot. Second, once I wanted to give up on Hubpages but since you were my only fun I didn’t want to disappoint you. And I thank you for publishing my next hubs.
SheriSapp— How nice to hear from you again! Where've you been, girl? I love the graciousness expressed in your words. You are surely welcome.
Hi James,
Congratulations on those impressive stats. Yours are certainly being viewed more than mine, but from what you stated...your travel hubs are viewed less often and most of mine relate to travel. Oh well! I write about what I like.
As to money...I'll be getting my very first check the end of Dec. and that is after 1 year of writing. Like you...I have bookmarked many hubs about how to make money on hubpages but have yet to figure out all of the details.
The best part about writing here is meeting folks like you and others who offer intelligent hubs about interesting subjects from a myriad of perspectives.
DynamicS— You know . . . I thought you were someone I know in real life. Thanks for reminding me who you are. When the comment is not in blue I usually suspect it is one of my friends checking in.
Dovetail. I like that expression. You are welcome and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Which is bottomless, of course. :D
Janetta— I have missed you, my sultry siren of motion pictures now retired in Missouri. :-)
Are you . . . Veronica Lake?
ehern33— Who knew there were 33 eherns!?
Life is stranger than fiction.
Thank you so very much for coming and for letting me know you were here.
hee hee, Hercules is so cute! another very fine hub, James.
cjv123— Thou shalt not covet! :D
I'm just kidding. Thank you, honey. May I call you honey? Why not? You are a pretty girl from my home state and where I'm from we call all the pretty ladies honey.
cameciob— I joined your fan club because I saw you had a degree in history and while I don't have a degree of any kind, history is something I love dearly and have studied all of my life.
I am coming to read your work tomorrow. Thank you for your kind words.
Peggy W— Thank you! I know. I write about what I like, too. I do push some buttons here and there to stir up a bit of controversy. But then I do my Hubs about subjects near and dear to my heart most of the time. You are a sweet lady and your travel Hubs are outstanding!
cosette— So nice to hear from you again! You are pretty cute yourself. Why, if I was six months younger . . .
James A. Watkins, CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done Professor! That is remarkable, you certainly have put in your time. Your hubs are certainly diverse, comprehensive and informative! You are consistently meticulous as well. Thank you for sharing such a wealth of topics. In His Love & Blessings!
James,
You are an inspiration. These are amazing numbers to have. I think we need to start a pool on how long it takes to hit 1,000,000!
Congrats on all your milestones. You reached another one - I'm your 800th fan :). Hope you continue to write and inspire everybody to reach what you have reached.
Veronica for now, James ;)
WOW , Congratulations on those stats!
DeBorrah K. Ogans— Thank you, dear. Comprehensive. Now there's a good word. I appreciate that, DeBorrah. You are sure welcome. God Bless You!
dave272727— A million looks a long way off, but one never knows. Thank you for your kind words, Dave. I appreciate the visit.
emievil— YES!!! YOU ARE MY 800th FAN!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I STARED AT THE 799 ALL NIGHT AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE.
Janetta— You always look great!
Bail Up ! — Thank you! Great to hear from you. Thanks for coming by.
A landmark indeed! I am proud to have become your fan early on in my HP experience-I particularly enjoy your hubs on your travels.
Congratulations.
PS: Hercules is fabulous!
lorlie6— Thank you very much. Hercules is indeed fabulous. I appreciate your encouragement.
What great accomplishments, James! I'm happy to be one of your many, many fans. I do hope you get "discovered" soon!
Hi James: That indeed is a great achievement. Congratulations! I, too, am very close to 50,000 views but then I've been here longer than you have so not a big deal for me. You are one of my favorite hubbers and I know its going to stay that way for a loooong time. Wish you all the best in all you do. :)
anjalichugh— Thank you! Congratulations to you, too. You've only been in four months longer, and you have a little over half the number of Hubs as I do, so I'd say you're doing great. I appreciate your sweet compliments. You are a nice lady. :-)
Hi, Congratulations! I know you will have more and more views because you write with passion and you are a good writer!
Cheers! Maita
No, thank you, James. Your Hubs are all amazing. This one is maybe the most amazing, telling us what a really successful Hubber does. Most of us can only look on in awe! Thanks for being there with us. Don White
prettydarkhorse— Thank you, Maita! I appreciate your compliments.
James
dusanotes— You are too kind, my friend. You are most welcome. :D
James - I'm not one bit surprised at these fantastic numbers. Anyone as charming and prolific as you are would have them. Your subjects are always interesting and no matter rude someone gets you're always a gentleman - a rarity these days. Congratulations, and keep at it :)
Hi James,
what stats, Great job. I believe the Holy Spirit works through you to touch many lives. It is no mistake that in 7 months you have a host of readers. You ARE to be here. You are a gifted writer. Each hub is for a reason, even if it only touches one individual.
It takes me 12 to 15 hour's per hub. I edit till I am blue.It is a journey indeed. It would be neat to have a hub party, and all hubbers meet in some city. Just a thought. I have a host of new friends. You being one of them. You have been an inspiration James. I have learned a great deal from your journey. I enjoyed this hub, a bit different from your other writes. God has big plans for you I feel it in my Spirit. I think one day you will publish a book, then you have to send copies to your hub friends Thank you for reading a 'letter from above' Your comments are heartfelt. Thank You. That was more of a 'song' I wrote. No musician picked up on that yet.It is what it is. I am glad you enjoyed. Blessings
Love Ya Hugs
You have done extremely well here James and you should be proud of your achievements. I always read your hubs and give them a thumbs up, but these days I find that by the time I get to the end of your comments, at least six other people have said what I wanted to say!
Madame X— Thank you for your gracious remarks. It is nice to be called "charming." :D
I think very highly of you, too.
skye2day— I love your comments. You are a ray of sunshine to me. You have uplifted me through your encouragement and affirmation. And I thank you.
Nemingha— Thank you. You always read my Hubs!? That is praise enough. You're funny. Somebody keeps stealing your lines, eh?
I found this hub fascinating to read, we joined about the same time but you are more prolific and more successful than I am by a long way and deservedly so. Congratulations on all your well earned milestones and I am sure that it won’t be long now before we read about you breaking through the 100,000 barrier.
maggs224— Thank you, dear. It's nice to hear from you again. I appreciate your kind words. I enjoy your Hubs.
That is why you be looking so good. You have an awesome stylist.:) Hugs I wrote that for hub mob weekley topic.
skye2day— Thank you, dear. :-)
I don't know anything about a "hub mob." Is this something I should know about?
Congratulations!
successfulblogger— Thank you and welcome to the Hub Pages Community!
OH, I am so PROUD of my James! It feel so nice to succeed in something! That's the way I felt when I received my second Doctorate and 12 hours of research, I know how that feels!! lol, lol, You must love what you do and your GOOD at it!! I am glad to be your FAN!!! Blessings!!
drpastorcarlotta— Thank you. :) I wouldn't compare writing Hubs for free to receiving a 2nd doctorate. Geez Louise! That is a huge accomplishment! (Yours I mean.)
Thank you, I am so glad I met and became your fan. I loved reading this blog, I am sure it contains a lot of information that many of us hubbers would like to read. God bless you and I hope to read as much of your materials as I can. I am specializing and might only diverge into non-fiction fiction God permitting.
donnaisabella— You're welcome. I'm glad you are here, too. I'm going to come read one of your Hubs in just a minute. The word is that specializing is the way to go. I can't help myself but be contrary. :)
Thanks for your comments. Welcome to the Hub Pages Community!
James, nice to read, and I believe these are some accomplishments worthy of compliment, so my congratulations go to you for your milestones. 1000 fans shouldn't be that far away since I think you craft some very good hubs.
Oh Man Thats Totally amazing .....
I like the whole part of ur experience .
Thanks For The great Hub .
And am looking forward for more work and ur response .
And am very glad to become a fan of urs
Thanks
Regards
Shaz
Milestones are amazing, but I don't think you've gotten anywhere close to where you're going. Everyday gives us just one more. Sometimes we have to jump over them, sometimes we just stare at the mile marker like someone's playing a joke on us, and at other times we push that marker a little further into the ground just to prove to ourselves that we've been there.
Thanks for sharing
Hi! Very nice writing! I stopped by the site to pick up my url and I stayed to read your article. Keep writing, they tell me the money will come.
Jeffrey Neal— Thank you, Jeffrey, for your kind words. I appreciate you coming by to visit.
Shaz123— You are welcome. Thank you very much for this visit; your fine remarks; and becoming my fan. I do appreciate it.
Kaie Arwen— I am amazed at your thoughtful, insightful, poetic comments here. Thank you very much and you are welcome. I'm your latest fan! :-)
janiek13— Welcome to the Hub Pages Community! I am glad you read my article. Thank you for this visit and the encouragement.
Glad you're still writing James. My earnings are abysmal too!
Congratulations James the milestones are quite something. I thought I would write these killer articles that people would flock to read and I would just sit back and live off my pay pal account. I guess it doesn't work that way.
However I want you to know that I'm trying to emulate you in the quality of work. ( The subjects are rather different I'm sure you noticed )
I'll keep reading your work because it is so fascinating and informative and also because I learn so much about the art of writing from you.
May there be many and greater milestones ahead.
Gypsy Willow— It's been a long time since we've talked. I need to get over and see what you've been writing. Thanks for your words.
iantoPF— What wonderful things you have to say! I am gratified to read them here. Thank you so much. You have buoyed my spirits!
Hi James. WOW. You have done exceptionally well in such a short time! Well done. I'm new here so will need to spend some time going through your older hubs. I've been searching for quite a while for a site that combines ease of use, great community and quality content. Looks like Hub Pages meets all these requirements. Regards, Jessica
Jessica Jones— Hello! Welcome to HubPages. I hope you have found a home here. You perceptions are true. This is a great platform for writing. I'm glad you have joined us, and I look forward to reading your words.
James
Hey James, up beat and easy come easy go attitude, I like it. Thanks for the bench mark, another well written piece.
Ben
Ben Zoltak— Thank you. I appreciate your comments, Ben. And you are welcome.
James
A way to go James... Great Milestones you just whipped out... Cheers Buddy...
Congratulations James. I am proud of you and very glad that I contributed to your statistics by reading your hubs. You are one of my favorite hubbers, so I consider your success to be mine also. You inspire me to always do my best. In fact, your hub:
http://hubpages.com/hub/advice-for-success-on-hubp
has helped me along the way.
With regards to receiving an income from hubpages, I think the subject we choose may determine how much we will make, as mentioned by Mark Knowles in one of his hubs.
We both are believers and we also have an interest in history. I taught history for years and I enjoyed every minute of it. You can tutor in history if you have time since you have such a passion.
I have one question for you though. Is there a special reason why you wear dark glasses in your avatar? I think they hide who you truly are.
GeneralHowitzer— Thank you very much for visiting my Hub and leaving word that you did. :-)
create a page— Thank you! Thank you very much. I had no idea I was one of your favorite Hubbers. We do indeed have a lot in common. I would love to tutor history!
I wear sunglasses only because I have few photographs of myself. I generally shun being photographed. Of the photos I have, my avatar is one of my favorites because I love the background—Monaco!
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
Wow, you've done so well and in such a short time. You're proof that you get back what you put in. You deserve lots of success.
pastella13— Thank you for your gracious remarks. I appreciate you for visiting me and leaving your words on this page.
PR?? I'm your girl... and continued success on your hubs!
PashaS— If you'll work on commission,I'm your man! I'm glad you came.
James, Wow, I go away for a week and look what happens :)
Congratulations-Go James! You are such an excellent writer, I can certainly understand why you have such a great following! Your topics are interesting and your research thorough. The images you use are always perfect. I especially love your Hubs on Art and the History of Christianity, they are the best I have found. You also have a wonderful way of responding to your comments. You always appear to be genuinely thankful and have kind things to say. So keep up the writing and your fans will keep coming back!
Kebennett1— Where have you been, girl!? I thought you had abandoned me! :-)
Thank you. I appreciate your wonderful compliments. You always lift me up.
James keep writing! You have a great style and very thorough on your topics. I registered here to leave a comment on a hub, then a few months later I did a search for Christian Articles and it brought me back to the hub pages and one of your hubs. I've been reading your Hubs since. It's hard to keep up! The more I read the more interesting your life seems to be.
I think your writing an autobiography would be great! I have learned much from your writing, you are blessed in your capabilities. I read your hubs almost daily with my coffee.
I don't know how the points are set, if it's by visits and reading or by comments. If it's by comments I'll need to start leaving a hello on each Hub.
Thank you for all your knowledge and writing about it!
50 Caliber— Thank you very much for the laudatory comments, 50. I will confess: I have been blessed with a very interesting life. I appreciate you reading my Hubs. Having a participatory audience makes the performance worthwhile for me. :-)
You know, I don't know how those points work either. I have gazed upon them aplenty, but I can't make rhyme or reason out of them.
You are welcome. Writing is my pleasure and to hear that somebody really likes what I produce, well it just makes a man feel good.
James, me abandon my mentor, never :) Just a quick trip to Las Vegas with my husband for our 23rd Anniversary! My cousin and his wife flew in from Oregon and met us there. We stayed in our World Mark Condo and had a great, much needed, relaxing week. Hub withdrawals all week though! :) I missed everyone! Glad to be back!
Kebennett1— HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Did you come home a winner? I'm glad you're back. And I'm glad you had a relaxing vacation. The HubPages is quite a Community, isn't it. Thanks for the update.
Congrats, thats so great!! Love your hubs, keep up the good writing and research!

uliveulearn— Thank you for becoming my fan and reading my humble Hub. I enjoyed your profile page and look forward to reading your work. I appreciate the compliment. Welcome to HubPages!
James - wow - 50,000 views - that is a feat! Congratulations on that as well as your 100 hub. And 12 hours on a hub! That's a lot of work which just shows why your hubs are so darn good, well written and information rich.
I remember when there was that flurry of good hubbers quitting and I really hated that. I am glad that you stuck with it!
Dolores Monet— How nice to hear from you again! Thank you for the congrats. I appreciate it. I am glad I stuck with it, too. Writing and reading HubPages has brought a lot of pleasure to me. I'll keep going as long as I can.
Well, I learned alot from this hub. I have joined your fanclub. I am only 3 weeks old on hubpages. It's good to be a fan!
WayneAnsell— I am pleased that you found it useful. Thank you for joining my fanclub. I know you're new but you're off to a good start. Welcome to Hubpages!
