My Favorite Online Procrastination Sites
91"What do you DO on the internet for THAT long?" -- This has to be the question I hate the most. I used to get into long, drawn out conversations about how I check in with clients I haven't heard from in a while, communicate with current clients, write, check my website statistics, etc.
Over the years I've reduced my answer to one word - "work." However, what I don't tell people is that I regularly enjoy a healthy dose of procrastination! I bet you do too. When I'm stuck with an article or sales letter, when I'm drinking my morning coffee or when I'm bored - I have a little list of favorite online procrastination sites that I LOVE!
I just can't help myself. What would possess someone to join a game with many other internet procrastinators, use a mouse to draw (very badly, I might add) in order to try and get the other players to guess a word? Oh, and in less than a minute and a half! It is a very addictive and fun game for me!
My Partner's Blogs -
Whether they have written a funny story, a product review or a piece on current news, I love visiting these blogs. Whether I'm daydreaming about visiting faraway places, staying up to date on the latest gizmos and gadgets or getting tips on self-education and eco-living - it's always interesting!
I don't know whether to really hurt my partners for telling me about this site or thank them! How fun is it to sketch something on your computer screen using your mouse, submit it and then receive a drawing back? It just pops up right on your screen - and you watch it come alive! Whether it's a funny little beast with sharp teeth or a truly great sketch of a very real looking flower, it's fun to see what you get!
Okay, I'm not sure if I'm addicted to the site or just that little button! What a neat way of sending your friends to great pages and sites. I especially love the way that you control what sites you see and which you don't. I always leave reviews and thumbs up for the sites I find interesting and fun, and it's exciting to see what you will stumble upon next.
Who doesn't love this site? Sure, every once in a while you see a post that you really wish you hadn't, but most of the time it's great. Visiting this site allows you to take a closer look into the life of a stranger. You learn secrets about people you will never meet and things they probably don't tell the people they are closest to. It makes me realize that we never really consider what someone else might be going through.
This has to be my first or second favorite of all! It's similar to post secrets in that you learn something deep and intimate about someone you will never meet, but I love the fact that the words are paired with art. Although you will occasionally run across one that might disturb you - you also read ones that make you pause and really think about things!
So...there you have it! These are my absolute favorite ways to procrastinate online. Let me know what yours are so I can procrastinate even more!

Good Hub. We're both guilty of procrastination. For a while we had a spell of virtual fish tanks. So much more riviting than writing copy for our website!
Great Hub, I love Hub Pages, Digg, Yahoo 360, Facebook and many more didn't realize they are procrastination sites otherwise I would have curtailed myself :)
Thanks Dabblingmum - they definitely ARE more fun sometimes.
Eric - I love Ebay too - Forgot to mention that site. LOL We priceless Sams are all over the place!!
Hahaha smallbizpro...maybe I'll get your drawing.
compusmart - thanks for the comment! It IS fun.
2patricias - I will have to check out the virtual fishtanks for SURE! LOL
Haha cgull - I call them procrastination sites because when I'm on them, I could really be working! ;-)
Okay all of these just stopped my work day short as I went from site to site you linked. You are Satan...well, okay, you aren't Satan but it did seem a bit devilish to be looking at these sites when I should have been working. Thanks!
Yikes, I was introduced to Facebook only 10 days ago and now I'm totally submerged in a VR life. Have spent more time at Yoville earning money prostituting myself with games of tic tac toe to furnish an apartment that looks better than my own house. And it is all because of procrastination, capital P.
somelikeitscott - Hahaha! You're welcome. ;-)
Jewels - I am still trying to learn Facebook. LOL Yoville sounds fun!
And Sam, you are more than welcome to visit my apartment and I'll give you a knighthood to my realm so I can put you to work in my castle. LOL.
I do alot procastination on Net....
he he he is that fun?
yes!!! digg.com works great for finding other procrastination content
Jewels - hhahaha! So I played it a bit last night! WOW - I can see how it would suck away all the time. LOL I will be sure to visit you.
koncling - it is fun! lol thanks for the comment.
renchin - I love digg! I agree - it's a great procrastination resource.
Sometimes I enter the internet and completely lose track of time. I like Yahoo answers and ferryhalim.com for cool flash games.
Jim - I am definitely going to have to check out the flash games. There was one site that came to me through Stumbleupon and it had new versions of old game shows. Psssh - there went an entire day! LOL
Sam, I so admire your honesty. I, too, dwindled my answer down to *work*, but that was a big fat lie! Now I'm going to tell the truth...Solitaire (not Internet, but, hey, it's on the computer), HubPages (if I stretch it a lot, I could call that work, but not really), and just surfing for the heck of it to see where I wind up.
Fun and refreshing Hub!
This so cool -- procrastination is my life!!!! I love Stumbleupon where one can while away many hours totally non-productively. BTW I'm "pinkpackrat" on Stumbleupon and happy for new friends anytime:-) Thanks for giving me some new options and reminding me of some old ones. Thumbs up!
Sally - LOL glad to know I'm not the only one...!
Robie2 - Will definitely add you! I love Stumble. LOL
Thank you for the link to Sketch Swap. I'm bookmarking it.
I'm giving you a thumbs up for this hub. BTW, I'm at Facebook too and tarry around there sometimes.
Common ties, how cool is that! Thanks for the intro to the sites. Now the question is, what to cut back on so I can continue to visit and hub.

It's so darn easy to get caught up in other people's blogs, content-driven websites, and research, isn't it? I have also found that twitter feeds can be addicting as can hub pages! I don't always comment, but I do notice that when I get on to publish a hub, I end up on for a good 30 minutes or more reading other hubs.
