My Hub for World Peace
54
I am fortunate to live in a country that promotes peace. I live in Canada. I have never had to worry about living in a war-torn country. I have never had to worry about fighting a war. I have never had to worry that my home and family are not going to be alive tomorrow.
I watch the world news each night on television. I see the effects of war. I see children living in refugee camps with injuries. I see children crying over the bodies of their dead parents. It tears me apart to see these images.
Life really is not fair sometimes. I often wonder why these children have to suffer. Why are innocent people hurt by war? Why is there even such a thing as war?
The reason there is war in this world is greed and hatred. One country wants control over another country and one culture hates another culture.
I can't being so greedy that I would ever want to kill an entire nation over it. I can never imagine hating another culture so much that I would ever want to kill them. I could never imagine even being any part of this.
It is up to every individual, man or woman, young or old, to promote peace in this world. Peace begins in the home. Peace begins in the heart. Peace is an essence of our entire survival.
I am proud to post this hub so that I can join in with other promoters of peace on hubpages to help promote peace around the world.

I have travelled to different places in the world and I always found good people. We have differences that keep us apart. It is the differences we have the probems with not the people. I hope we can get passed these differences soon. - 7 months ago

Thank you for your comment, Teresa McGurk, and yes, Canada is lucky.
Howdy neighbor. The fact that our northern neighbors are a very pro-peace bunch is something that I have known growing up. Thank you for posting this peaceful hub and linking with us. We are spanning the globe. :)
Hi Paper Moon, and you are very welcome. It was my pleasure.
