My Life in a Nutshell Part 1
65
This is a fictional piece of work, just a story. Don't want to cause any confusion.
__________________________________________________________
My life is a disaster. I came home to a flooded garage, burned my food, and tripped over the lamp cord on the way to bed. Why? Why, oh why? I have done nothing wrong. Earlier in the day, I was hanging out with my friends and it was such a fantastic time! We ate pasta, went to a wine tasting, and drove the afternoon away. It was the type of afternoon that just seems perfect in every way possible. Plus, I was a little typsy from the tasting, so when I got home, I was in a great mood. But then my garage door opens and water comes out because of the damn river my house sits next to.
After I call the necessary people to get my garage cleaned and fixed, I call my friend Melissa to chat. Although I hung out with her earlier in the day, I knew there would still be plenty for us to talk about. That's the greatest thing I love about Melissa, we could literally see each other two seconds before after a long day together and talk on the phone and STILL have plenty to talk about. I marvle at our ability to do that at times.
"Melissa, it's me. What are you doing?"
"What up, homie? Not doing too much, just watching my favorite show ever. You know, the best show in the world?"
"The Mickey Mouse Club with Justin, Brit Brit and Christina does not constitute as the best show in the world. If anything, it's the original MCC that is the best. Just because they brought it back multiple times with new characters doesn't make the last one any better."
"Whatever, it's still good. They look so innocent and happy. Before they brought sexy back and went on anti-depressents while wearing skanky clothing. Nothing beats it, I tell you."
"Yeah, well. Guess what happened to me, Melissa?"
"What? Did you finally go poo?"
"Hardy har har! No, missy, I have had THE worst night of my life!"
I proceed to tell her the events of my evening and what happened. Another thing about Melissa that I like, she plays the sympathy card really well. I like that about her.
"Oh my god, that's horrible! I am SO glad that I don't live in a house. That's why my apartment is just right. It is away from water. And, there are plenty of restruant's to choose from for carry out. Which means no burnt food."
"Yeah, that also means money down the drain that you could have spent on actual groceries."
"You try walking up several flights of stairs when the elevator is broken. It isn't fun, trust me."
"I have and it doesn't matter. You know I'd be more than happy to shop with you to help. Anyway, you need to move somewhere else. That place is the pits. I don't know why you insist on staying there."
"My apartment situation is perfectly fine. You act like it is falling apart.... Ok, don't answer that. The point is that it isn't THAT bad."
"You are 27 years old, able to afford something nice, and yet you persist on that horrible abode."
"Sentimental reasons, Piper, that's what this place has."
"I suppose so. Listhen, I should go to bed. I'm about to fall asleep and if I don't in the next 30 seconds, you will be having a one-sided conversation and wonder what happened to me."
"Word. Well, good night and will talk to you later. Are we still up for lunch?"
"Yeah, but maybe a late lunch? After today, I think I might sleep in tomorrow."
"That's fine. Call me. I love you like a fat girl loves cake!"
"Love you too Melissa. Bye."
As I hang up the phone, I instantly feel better. While I may not always have the perfect ending to a perfect day, I know I can at least make it marginally better when I can talk with Melissa. I put my head down on the pillow, close my head, and don't even complete the thought running through my mind.

Actually, it's a fictional piece of work. My mistake in not making it clear. I do however have a great friend like Melissa who I can talk to about ANYTHING.
Oops, you got me there! You make a good storyteller then. I still enjoyed it. Thanks!
It's not your fault at all. I had an idea floating around about writing a story, and figuared I would start one. It was my fault for not labeling it correctly, so do not worry.
well it is labelled now,did you add it later. Enjoyed, will be back for more
I added the part in the very beginning where it is fiction, didn't want to cause confusion. Hope you like do like it!
I really enjoyed this!
Thank you Lissa Lynn. I enjoyed writing it. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the story so far!

Yeah, not everything turns out right in life, but you're fortunate when you have friends, like you have in Melissa. When you think about it, you did have a great day, until you got home. With weather getting real weird these days, you may want to listen to your friend about moving and being safe! Enjoyed your hub!
