Coffee Mixes
I'll update this for the coffee mixes I tried or something that I may find interesting.
Alpine Coffee
Ingredients:
- 2 tbs instant coffee
- 2 tbs brown sugar
- 1 tbs vanilla extract
- 1 tsp water
- 1 1/2 cup boiling water
Preparation:
Split coffee and vanilla between 2 mugs. Dissolve the sugar in 1 tsp water, and heat in a saucepan to boiling. Mix in the larger portion of hot water, then pour into the two mugs. Stir well and serve.
Kapeng Barako
Kape Barako, also spelled Baraco (English: Barako coffee) is a coffee varietal grown in the Philippines, particularly in the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. It belongs to the species Coffea liberica
Barako a tagalog word which means strong man or manliness, and kape means coffee. Because of its strong taste, it got the name kapeng barako.
How Kapeng Barako is prepared the Batangas Way?
Boil water in a pot. Add brown sugar and let mixture boil for a few seconds. Remove pot from heat. Add the barako coffee, stir and allow coffee to brew for at least five minutes before straining. Coffee is served black.
