Verizon Wireless EnV Touch LG-VX11000

I got a new cell phone two nights ago. I should say my husband and my daughter got me a new phone a couple nights ago. Turns out last week when my husband needed a new phone, my phone came as part of a BOGO sale. So, even though I wasn't in the market for a new cell phone, I got one.

My two big requests for this new phone included that 1) it would play music and that it 2) it would have a Qwerty keyboard. Seems I was only strokes away from carpal tunnel with my previous phone.

As I mentioned earlier my having a new cell phone wasn't out of need, but necessity. If it's free, I am not one to leave money on the table, so to speak, so I am now the happy user of a LG enV Touch VX11000 Phone.

A Few Things to Know about the Verizon Wireless LG EnV Touch

That being said, I've made 3 calls in 3 days, and text messaged two times.

You see, I view cell phone use as insurance if I would get stuck on the road or be involved in an accident. If that should happen, I can call my knight in shining armor, my husband. Any use beyond that and I consider the cell phone ringing a complete intrusion. I know, my family doesn't like that I have this view either.

In any event, turns out my new LG enV Touch is pretty cool. It's weighted nicely so that it fits in the palm of my hand nicely. The keyboard is a dream come true, I like that when I am typing a text message I press one key for each desired letter. I am happy to hang up my wood pecker texting and happily use my new Qwerty keyboard.

The phone has two screens. An external touch screen that can be used to access all phone settings, tools and features and an internal screen that can be viewed whilst texting, or viewing photos and I think video, but I am not sure. I'll research that next.

Talking on the phone happens with the phone closed. There are two button, known as "soft buttons", on the bottom of the front of the phone used for making and ending calls. In my case, I have experienced good reception...for my three calls, I know not much of a database. But with cell phone reception I have found in the past, it doesn't take many calls to figure out the reception isn't good. So with my short trial period I am happy to report the phone reception is awesome.

I had a micro SD card in my previous LG Chocolate which easily transferred into my new phone. This is wonderful so that I can enjoy listening to my music which I painstakingly transferred over a year ago and now do not recall what is loaded on my recently acquired phone. But I digress, the transfer was smooth and I am happy.

The phone came with a charger and so far the battery life has been decent. I have charged the phone on two of the three nights that I've had it, and so far so good with the battery life. One additional item that is worth mentioning is the cell phone comes with a USB data cable which can be used if you want to use your computer to charge your phone.

Taking pictures with the phone is straight forward. There is a camera button on the top left hand side of the camera. After pushing that the screen loads and using the external screen you can position the camera to take your picture. After the picture is taken, you can choose to Erase, Save or Edit by pressing the screen.

I have many more things to research about this phone. Like how to change the contact icons so that they reflect something other than silhouettes of people with colorful themes, and how to export images from and onto the LG enV Touch.

Accessories for the Verizon Wireless LG enV Touch

As I mentioned above, I am continuing to research more things about this phone. Like how to change the contact icons with pictures from my phone either that I have taken with the phone camera or that I have on my microSD (tm) card. I think this will be great so that the icons reflect my friends and family...people I know.

I also would like to learn more about the visual voice mail and taking photos using the external screen.

Sounds cool, but then that would assume I'd be using my phone for more than the occasional use. In the meantime, I think I will shop for some enV Touch Accessories.
