My Obituary
61Me
It's All about Me
She loved the animals, the horses best
She also felt a love for all the rest.
She watched the birds
She wrote in words
She painted in oils
She collected earth's spoils.
She gardened and mowed
Her children she spoiled
Her machines she oiled.
She fed all her friends
She tied up loose ends
She knitted and sewed
She carded and spun.
She loved every one
She liked to play chess
She lived in a mess.
Computers her playthings
Her car full of dings,
She traveled the earth with joy and with mirth.
Wondrous places were her home.
She planned to write a mighty tome.
Ponds and fishes were her delight.
She watched the stars most every night.
Her love for family was most strong.
She helped them all to get along.
Wonderful Wales was her home
It gave her strength and let her roam.
Farms and fields were her domain
Whether the weather was sunny or rain.
Lots of Children came to play.
they all said we will miss our Raye.

Thanks, Fiona. This was an exercise at my writers circle. Could come in handy one day!
I agree, it's beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing. Mine I guess shall say: I was probably wrong, but tried not to wrong. Keep it up and have fun.
It is an interesting exercise and it took me 20 mins to write. Strange to sum up your life in so few words!!
Thanks for stopping by Jill and Ande.
I shall have to try this. It looks like fun. Thanks for sharing the idea, and its results.
So...are you ever going to do a hub on your childhood in Wales? If you have already, I missed it.
How beautiful!!! To share your view of yourself and how to be remembered, but better than that it is now a way for you to be known. A beautiful person inside and out who enjoys what is and never misses what was not. Your life will always be full of these things you cherish. I truly appreciate this tribute to you!
This is very touching. I don't think it is going to be used for a long time.
I'm sure no one could better that! :)
I've always loved your name, Gypsy Willow, your avatar, the eye of the horse, and now - I love you!
That was definitely beautiful, and it felt sad and fulfilling, scary thought that you Gypsy, might leave us someday, but like Kushal says above, not for a long time. Write more of these, (but hopefully happy ones).
Hi Butterfly, do try it,It is an interesting exercise. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Joy, this is the link to my Welsh childhood

Thanks Emohealer for the kind thoughts
"She" ... is really something! Hope you share this with your family before that time comes. I often find that rhymes cloud the message, but not in this case. Encore, please ....
Thanks Zollstock, good idea! I'm on vacation for two weeks so won't be around much. Catch up when I get back.
This is so lovely, Gypsy! I see a great list of gratitude as well! :)
Hi Jodi I am grateful, I have had a wonderful life and hopefully a bit more to come!
I miss her already! That Gypsy Willow- she sounds like a great gal to have known... luckily we're still in a position to do that. But it does put the day into perspective, doesn't it? I loved that!
Glad you liked it, Linda. We shouldn't take our amazing lives for granted. Thanks for dropping by.
That's a fine obit, indeed. I can sense that you are a wonderful lady. I enjoyed reading your words.
Thanks James.
Gypsy, this is absolutely beautiful. You are a true artist. But, ahem, is there something you're not telling me? I mean, this obituary was art and not preparation, right? The world is most definitely a much better place with you in it. PS - I took a look at your galleries. Your work is beautiful. I will buy one from you someday soon.
It is better than:
Here lies Lester Moore
Took four shots from a 44
No les no more
Now that sounds like a life worth living!
I don't know how to answer that James! I'm working on a poem in reply!
Nice one, Keep writing.
I enjoyed it
Hi Dolores, thanks for the comment. I have to say I have enjoyed almost every minute and the minutes I didn't I can write about!
Nice flow. Very beautiful. You remind me of my mom.:)
That is praise indeed, Norah. Thanks for dropping by!
nice one
Thank you!
Gypsy Willow, This was beautifu! Nice thoughtful Poem. I can see you enjoy life and live it to the fullest. Thank you for sharing! Blessings!
Thanks, DeBorrah. I think most of us are truly blessed.
Hi, Gypsy, I'm back. I checked out your art webpage and you said that you are not an artist yet. Well, you are - you create art = you are an artist. I love the 'Village in Provance' and the one with the rocks, 'Other,' I think it was. I am thinking about putting some of my art up on a blog, but dragging my feet. You have inspired me to try to get around to it.
Hi Dolores, thanks for stopping by and your kind comments. Glad I have inspired you, do get around to it!
I really like this exercise, and wrote it beautifully!
Hi Chrissy Thanks for the comment. It is a very interesting exercise and will surely come in handy one day!
