What is "My Private Classroom for Marketers"?
53MPC Creator - Diane Hochman
Getting on the "Net" is easy, right?
Most people consider the Internet as a way to deliver their message to the masses get excited at the prospect of flashing that knowledge to the "Net" world in a virtual millisecond. What better place to facilitate attraction marketing than through Web 2.0 portals, right?
At least that is the perception we all have when first venture onto the "Net", establish a website, blog or use some other vehicle of web communication then VIOLA ... barely anyone shows up to hear the us! (Big sigh ......)
Many of us get caught believing that we can just hop online, enter our words of wisdom (content) and post it to our site and the search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. will jump all over it then catapult it onto Page 1 of the search results. If only it were that simple (of course if it were how effective would it really be?).
It doesn't take long to realize our lack of understanding topics like "Search Engine Optimization" (SEO for short), back links, comment posting, Web 2.0 venues and so on. In other words, we know practically nothing about all the different techniques necessary to propel your "Gem on the Web" to the top of the search results or to get recognized by various community members.
The question then becomes .... how exactly do we learn all this stuff to get noticed on these Web 2.0 sites?
I know, I know, it's more than obvious but that is the key question for anyone serious in establishing their Web 2.0 presence.
Now here's a website that will help ....
There is one place that I found awhile back where anyone interested in learning more effective ways get your message out to the Internet world can sign-up and gain access to a wealth training resources (videos and audio files mostly). The site's creator, Diane Hochman, decided to formulate her own "Pay It Forward" action by establishing a site where "non-techie" marketers could learn the ins and outs of the different Web 2.0 portals. So off she marched along with a few cohorts to develop "My Private Classroom for Marketers" on the "Ning" network.
Like many other Web 2.0 social networking sites, you have the opportunity to access all of the great content and you get your own page where you can create blog postings as well as upload photos and videos, and access the message center to enhance your social interactions with others in the community. It really is a fantastic resource for almost anyone interested in marketing (remember, anyone trying to "spread their word" is actually marketing!).
Currently there are over 150 explanatory content and "how-to" videos in the main video library collection and specific video/audio training series about getting things going via Web 2.0 using:
• Video Marketing & YouTube
• MySpace
• Utterz
• Blogger
• Windows Movie Maker
• and more being added all the time!
So I imagine about this time you are wondering .... O. K., what's the catch? How may pesos is this going to cost me? and ..... What is Jim getting out of this?
How about:
1. None except you have to be referred a member, which is me I guess and the fact that spamming and open recruiting is prohibited;
2. Zero, Nothing, Zilch, Nada
3. A friend to network with on another site perhaps (no affiliate program working here for me). In actuality, I just think it is a great site to gain more knowledge and interact with like-minded people!
Well to think of it, I may have just told one little fib. The more I think about it, I guess there is a cost.
I mean time is money right? And you will have to invest time to get registered, complete your profile and start checking out all the great content. But personally, I think you will be more than pleasantly surprised. Diane and the rest of the community have gone to great lengths to provide the ultimate learning and sharing environment for any type of marketer, especially those interested in Web 2.0 and attraction marketing.
So go check it out and just let them know that Jim Hickey sent you ...
Wishing you the best in all your ventures ...

Hi Jim, very informative. I had looked over that site earlier but not joined--so now I will after your recommendation.
Thanks,
Judy
Hi Cindy & Judy,
Thanks for the votes of confidence.
I am of the same mindset as Cindy and feel that it is always great being able to learn new things or even enhance things we have learned before by utilizing the tools people provide. The fact that it is free helps too!
The site is not as structured as the 90 Day Marketer or and material as detailed as some of Mike Klingler's Renegade Pro materials but the videos/audios are definitely a nice additional asset.
Thanks again for the comments!
Thank you for the information Jim. I have been hearing a lot about My Private Classroom from Jennifer Glackin on FaceBook. She raves about it as well, so with two witnesses, it is time to get going.
Thanks for the information.
Jennifer
Very welcome Jennifer, when you find a site that is full of helpful content; it's easy to give a little shout about it!
