My Quest for 100 - Attaining the Highest Hubscore

For the first time (I think) ever, I reached a Hubscore of 99 today. I was the 3rd-highest hubber at the moment. It was one of the proudest moments of my life, and it actually brought a smile to my face.

It seems silly considering most of the people at the top have been there for quite a while. To be honest, I should have been there for a while too.

I am one of the oldest hubbers here, and by oldest, I mean I've been here longer than many. I started here two years ago when my professor, who is a friend of one of the HubPages founders, suggested we give it a try. I was a college freshman then, and my participation in HubPages has ranged from minimal to obsessive, depending on my time in school (my participation increases over breaks, it seems...).

I definitely dropped the ball when it came to increasing earnings and my Hubscore (or maybe I should say I never really picked it up). I made a few pages in the beginning, but I never knew anything about designing a hub layout for maximum advertising space, or about what I could do to increase my Hubscore in general, such as getting more fans or fulfilling more requests.

It took me a really long time to get my first check from Google Adsense, and I thought it was because I was a bad hubber. I learned from reading other hubs, however, such as How to Make $100 per day with AdSense:12 Tips for Hubbers, that helped me realize it takes more than my writing to lead to a certain Hubscore.

It's a little frustrating knowing that I could have done so much better so much earlier, but I guess the only thing I can do is keep using what I've learned and try to spread the information to other hubbers. And the bottom line is probably that the more you participate, the better you do. It can take a lot of work to do as well as some hubbers on here, like Chuck.

In the meantime, I'll keep working for that Hubscore of 100. To do so, I've been on here obsessively, touching up my hubs, reading those of others and trying to do as many as I can. I don't think I've been on here so much for the score, however, as my actual enjoyment of this place. My more realistic goal is to reach 400 hubs... then who knows what next!

Wow I see you can write I was just thinking you were cute at first.I wasted a lot of time  on so called blogger sites trying to hustle traffic.I had pimped my blog out with every widget known to man.I had 15 things watching a vistors and they stood still:( I wasn't writing and recently am able to develop a little better style.

If your a reflection of the people on here then I'm in the right spot.
