I had a brief encounter with the law. The thing is it wasn't even me, it was my daughter. My teenage daughter was dating a boy who started stalking her when they broke up. To make matters worse, he filed false charges against her in court which were later thrown out. But, the ordeal left me stressed and drained. I was so happy that I was able to get a lawyer who calmed my nerves with the news about the case. The lawyer told me and my daughter that the case wouldn't go far because the judge would be able to see right through it. And that is exactly how it happened. The judge ruled in favor of my daughter and actually issued a protective-order against her ex-boyfriend with a stern warning.  He looked so surprised which made me smile because right there and then sitting in the courtroom I knew that he would leave my daughter alone.

Thank goodness I had a pre-paid legal membership and that's all I have to say about it. This plan was a lifesaver as it saved me from having to deal with what could have been an expensive case in addition to the stress and commotion this case caused in my house.
