Perennials V Annuals

One way to work smart and not hard in a garden is to plant perennials. A perennial is a plant that will keep growing year after year and gives you a big return on the amount of purchasing the plant to begin with. Unlike annuals which die every year and half to be replanted, a perennial can be the foundation of your garden. It's a slower method because the blooms are not usually their best until the 2nd year or later. It's not the same instant gratification of annuals but if you are planning on staying put for awhile, it's the way to go.

Yes, jasmine is beautiful. We have several including a gorgeous purple jasmine growing around the arched entry to our garden. You just have to trim it back properly or it will take over. Nice hub, actually you have a lot of excellent hubs. Thanks.

You are so right keisorogers, my jasmine is taking over my whole patio and has jumped the fence and is trying to take over the neighbor's yard too.

And thanks for the compliment.
