Well quite frankly I dont oppose gay marriage what so ever, but heres the other part that I dont like. To me marriage in western countries to start with are a religious thing or part of christianity which is something I do oppose. Really people should have the right to marriage no matter what gender they are or religion. What really bothers me is why cant gay people have the same rights as a hetrosexual couple meaning being able to obtain certain things such as benefits and other types of entitlements if they were legally married. So the other thing is why should marriage have to do anything with the church for a couple to be official partners for life. Now that beats me and totally pisses me off. Whether one is gay or not why do we have to go through the christian thing in marriage especially if you are an atheist? Damn I'm still pissed off thinking about it now. See in my case I was basically forced into doing that just so my partner and I would be oficially recognised as a couple and get the benefits. After we were married in New Zealand they bought in a civil union marriage where gay couples could also be married and officially be recognised. I now wish i had waited a little longer so it would not of had to of been in a church. I can say from being a world traveller and living in different parts of the world that gay marriage is very much accepted in most other countries in the world, the only real problem and last place it will ever be accepted in the western world is the United States where I currently reside.

So my ultimate conclusion is that as long as you have religion you basically have no personal rights OR freedom for that matter. Religion in the U.S basically influences everything in ones daily life whether you want it or not. Although I say this I have heard that the younger generation is warming up to more acceptance here and more free thinkers. I'm giving it around another 2-3 generations before United States is on parr of how the rest of the world is at the moment. I may sound harsh on religion but hey, how many people is religion hurting including themselves.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!! And let people do what the hell they want...
