Here are my top ten picks for best portral of the characters from the book, in the movie.
1. Rob Pattinson (Edward) - Even though I thought Cedric Diggory should have been shorter and buffer I think Rob is perfect for Edward. The make up and wardrobe team really made him look the part.
2. Kristen Stewart (Bella) - She a very believable Bella, I just wish her eyes were naturally brown. Oh well, yay for contacts!
3. Justin Chon (Eric)- He really MADE that character. I think even though he isn't just like the book, he added a lot to the movie with the personality he put into the roll.
4. Billy Burke (Charlie)- He's an endearing Charlie. His personailty was funny and fit the book well.
5. Kellan Lutz (Emmett)- Looks almost exactly like how I imagined him. Perfection would be to give him a perm. LOL! I don't think he wants to go there though!
6. Taylor Lautner (Jacob)- Why you ask is he not higher? Two words. THE WIG! He may move up after New Moon though!
7. Ashley Green (Alice) - In the book I pictured her with shorter, darker, spiker hair. I do love the hair they gave her though, and she comes across as tiny and graceful. I'm looking forward to better clothes in New Moon!
8. Peter Facinelli (Carlisle)- I thought I wouldn't like him as the Doc. at first, but they really made him look the part, and his acting was good. I can totally see him as a doctor.
9. Michael Welch (Mike) - Blond hair, blue eyes, and squishy cheeks. Perfect little puppy.
10. Gil Birmingham (Billy) - I pictured Billy as older at first, but Gil really hit the charcter on the mark I think.

Hayden Christensen?! He's a cutie and could definitly pull off the intense staring LOL, but I don't know if I can see him as Edward. I love Rob's bronzy brown hair. It's just like the book. Well, maybe a little more messed up than I picured. :) The first picture I saw of him as Edward was the REALLY heavily made up one in EW. I thought "Oh great, there goes the movie!" But, yeah, I love Rob as Edward now.
I actually really like all the characters in the movie, except for MIKE and Taylor. I cannot stand who they picked for Mike. Both Mike and Taylor, I pictured as really cute guys. Taylor with a big ego, and Mike as confident but not cocky.
Everyone else I really like who they used. I thought the wardrobe was bad for almost all of the characters though. The only ones I didn't mind were Charlie, Billy, Angela, and the extra characters. I'm sure they will do much better in this next movie.
I think you mean Tyler? Not Taylor Lautner, right? I am sooo excited to see Alice's new wardrobe!
I agree with fountain of info on Rob...nothing against him personally, but to me, he's just not Edward..never really thought of Hayden. Billy Burke was good as Charlie, one of the closest fits they had, I thought. I didn't like Alice's hair but it's one of the few things that didn't fit with her character to me. I was surprised at how well I liked Ashley Green in her part, though. I absolutely LOVE Taylor Lautner as Jacob. He really brings that role to life in my opinion. He was the first one I saw and thought, wow, he's perfect! Even Kristen for Bella, I don't know what it is about her but she's just a little off, to me. No blushing, too much makeup..that's not Bella..to me, anyway..
I thought Peter Faccinelli did a fantastic job as well as Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone. I am looking forward to New Moon :)
I thought that way about Rob at first, but then I couldn't think of anyone else who would come close to fitting the part in Hollywood. When I watch the movie I have to think of it as being almost totally seperate from the book and just appreciate it for what it is. Unless I'm slamming it on the blog! LOL!
I know what you mean, I tried that, but honestly, it just doesn't work for me. :( Oh well, I agree about there being no one else in Hollywood who could be Edward. I think Stephanie just wrote some big old shoes to fill and no one would be perfect :)
Ok, I just got done watching the first two episodes of The Vampire Diaries and I have to say, I wish that they'd got the main male character of that show to play Edward. I think he's perfect..sigh, oh well.
Ok, sorry to continue my last comment, Paul Wesley is his name and I think he's the closest thing I've seen to what I thought Edward would look like..

I love twilight too!!! I can't wait for New Moon, I think Jacobs hair will look better too judging from the trailers, umm Rob Pattinson is growing on me...I did not like him at ALL for Edward I thought that Hayden Christensen would make a better Edward, but Rob is working out okay after all ... I still would have wanted Hayden as Edward though lol
