Ok so it is Sunday morning and your family (or significant other) wants something amazing for breakfast. My favorite breakfast is Almond French Toast. It is sooo yummy and easy to make. I never really go by recipes, but I'll try to write one so you can enjoy it too!

Ingredients

This recipe is enough for 2-3 people. Double or triple for your family :)

French Toast

1 Loaf of Challah Bread

4 Large Eggs

A few drops of Vanilla Extract

Cinnamon

1 package of sliced raw almonds

Butter

Syrup

Whipped Topping

1 Pint Heavy Cream

2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar

A few drops of Vanilla Extract

Directions

1) Start off by slicing the Challah Loaf into thick slices (about 1 inch).

2) Beat eggs in a large wide bowl. Add a few drops of vanilla extract and a few sprinkles of cinnamon. (Be sparing with the vanilla, it's really strong, only a few drops!)

3) Pour almonds onto a plate.

4) Heat a large skillet (or griddle) on Medium heat.

5) Melt a few tablespoons of butter in the pan to coat.

6) Dip a slice of the Challah bread into the egg mixture then coat on both sides with the almonds. Place in skillet.

7) After a few minutes turn the Challah bread over and cook the other side.

8) Repeat with additional slices, adding butter to the pan so the egg mixture won't stick, as needed.

Whipped Topping

1) In a large mixing bowl pour in a pint of heavy whipping cream.

2) Using an electric mixer, whip the cream until peaks form.

3) Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and a few drops of vanilla extract.

4) Continue whipping until peaks reform.

Presentation

Place slices of french toast on a plate. Place whipped topping on top of almond french toast. Sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on top of whipped topping. Serve with warm maple syrup and fresh berries. Yum!
