It was the time I was studying for my final year in engineering. I was traveling on a train for many hours and then I saw her. Instantly, the chemistry between us bowled us over. It was like French love at first sight. Although we traveled together for just seven hours, it felt as though we'd known each other over several births.

We felt that we were made exactly for each other, sharing similar wavelengths in almost everything we talked each day, with a passion as if it was the end day of the world. We could not even concentrate on our work during the first few days. We belonged to different castes, and even though our parents opposed the marriage on these grounds, we got married.

The first two years of our marriage was really more than heavens to us. We were blessed with a son by then. She soon started to feel that life was boring at home and I began to notice changes in my wife.

By now she wanted to go out into the world and gave up the decision to remain as a homemaker. She joined a reputed construction company as a project engineer. After a few months, I began to notice more changes in her. She started to spend more time at office though I had busier schedules than she did.

The cat was finally out of the bag when one of my friends saw my wife with her boss, engaged in what seemed like an intimate conversation at a popular restaurant. I got very angry when I heard this and almost assaulted her when she returned home that night. I asked her whether she wanted to continue in our marriage.

She asked me for a divorce hoping to start a new life with her boss. I was devastated but thought it was useless to hang on to a marriage that suddenly became meaningless. Therefore I simply gave into her request and let her go and lead the life she now wanted, keeping my son with me.

I am now living for my son. My dear Vijay, my love was successful, my life failed though.
