My many collections
66Ever since I was little I have collected rabbits and bunnies.
Im not really sure what compelled me to collect them, I just really liked them. Even more than bears. I did have a couple bears I loved, but only because my big brother gave them to me. But for the most part I collected rabbits every year till I was 23 or so. I would get a new rabbit every Easter, and sometimes if mom saw one at the gift shop at the hospital she worked at, she would get it for me. I even have a couple pictures. I also had a couple pet rabbits through the years. My pet rabbits were named Thumper, and well..... the last ones name escapes me at the moment. They died long ago, and now, as cute as rabbits are, they are messy, and there would be no room to put one anywhere in our apartment.
After I met my husband and started working with him at Woody's I started collecting the TY toys, including the Beanie Babies. Most of them are in storage now, but I am betting I have about 15 to 20. My daughter, had some as well that she loved, but lost. her favorite one was her Shimmers, whom she lost last year. Shimmers was a medium sized pink bear.
Now we collect WebKinz. Faith has a Penguin named sarah and a black kitty named Ariel, I have a Pug named Brownie and a Brown and pink dinosaur named Cocoa, and Spencer has a Blue Hippo named Spence. The Webkinz do not come with these names, you name them what you want. Granted I am older than the targeted group for these animals, but I love them, and think they are just too cute. Now my husband Sean wants one.Lol.
One other collection I have is key chains. Many from the places I have visited. Like Antigua, Walt Disney World, Crater Lake, Puerto Rico. My two favourite right now are my Snoopy, with my ruby birthstone, and My Zac Efron LED light. Yes Zac Efron is a bit young for me, but only by 10 years. The key chain collection makes my family a bit nutty, as I only have 3 keys on both sets total, and none of them being car keys.
The one thing I would love to collect when I have a bigger place, and of course I would need the money to acquire it as well are some of Thomas Kinkades beautiful paintings. I love the ones he does of lighthouses, Paris, Disneyland, and San Fransisco. I have a couple of his prints, that my mom bought me, but I want the bigger ones. Maybe someday, if I win the lottery.
My husbands obsessions are hats, watch's and swords. Hats are what he has the ,most of. I suspect them in his hasting baldness(meaning I think they are making him go balder, faster then his maternal DNA).

Thanks.
This is a nice article and when I was young I collected bears and then downsized, I ended up collecting Angels and now I have to many and they are all stored away, as when someone finds out that you are a collector they bombard you with them. I do own a couple of Thomas Kinkade original painitngs and they are beautiful, prints however are jsut as nice. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. :)
Thank you.
Went to Jo'Anns Fabrics again yesterday. I love to collect arts and crafts things. I bought a cute wooden shelf and I am going to woodburn a design on it.
That sounds fun.
That is a very impressive bunny collection. My wife and kids always wanted a real bunny and of course I am allergic so they tend to remind of this especially around Easter. My kids have tons of Webkinz although my wife and I have never even bought them one. My mother in-law buys them and brings them over constantly. At least the kids get to have fun with them playing the games on the computer. But, our house is being invaded with stuffed animals.
Yeah, most kids with kids are defineately unindated with stuffed animals. Anytime we go to the fair my husband feels the need to play the carnival games, which adds to the stuffed animal collection.
I gave some really nice Teddy bears to my niece and nephew that were very expensive. Okay I did not buy these myself, but my ex-boyfriend had given them to me and I wanted to just get these out of the house. I was a little upset to find out a couple of years later she just disposed of these, especially since one was a gund bear.
That sucks, she could have at least taken them to good will, or something. Siblings!
lol, I was just noticing what I said about kids with kids. I meant Parents with kids. Silly me.
WOW!! Those are great pictures. I love soft toys and wish I was forever a child cuddling these cute ones.
nice bunny collection. Makes me smile.

This was fun. I used to collect M&M's holidays figurines, but then they stopped making new ones and it got boring. I also used to collect 8x10 and 5x7 "Got Milk?" pictures. The 8x10's would be framed and hung under the bar/room devider in my kitchen, and the 5x7's would be framed and hung on the little wall part by the ceiling which ran the around the kitchen.
What you can do for Kinkades, until you can get the paintings, is print out 8x10s (easy to find at poster sites, etc) and frame and hang those.
Have you ever been to M&Ms world in Las Vegas? They might have the figurines.
Actually, I used to do the puzzles, but always forgot to get the frames. Now I do not even know where the puzzles went to.lol.

I remember the wonderful Kincaid gallery next to Woody's Boat House. I rarely go to the village, but I was impressed by it the few times I saw it. Nice pictures of your collections.
