Which diet will you be trying this time?

Even though our choice of diets have often let us down in the past, most people will revert back to an old one or a fad diet to “try again”. The fact is no matter what we pick - it will fail 98% of the time. All that work and only a 2% chance of success!

The reason they don’t work is - diets are a short term fix - to a long standing issue! I have failed in the past because of lack of will power. Or maybe the diet removed an important macro-nutrient like fats or carbohydrates putting my body out of balance. So I started craving what I denied my body.

The most outstanding reason diets don’t work is they don’t address the root cause of weight problems - which is “insulin resistance”.

In a nutshell, our lifestyles of poor eating habits and inactivity have made us less sensitive to our own insulin. Our bodies respond to this by creating more insulin. As our insulin rises in response to the insulin insensitivity, our blood pressure goes up and the bad cholesterol goes up while the good one goes down. Our bodies then have increased inflammation and we gain weight around the middle. In addition to all of that-heart disease and diabetes is now a high risk to us.

When our body reacts in this manner, (which is an abnormal metabolic state), it holds on to fat. So we can’t lose weight-no matter how hard we try!

There is a way out of this vicious circle. We can “reset” our bodies and reverse what has taken place. Our bodies can revert back to a normal metabolic state and then be able to release the fat.

I’m not talking about a diet - at least in the traditional way we think of one. I’m talking about resetting our glycemic index by eating a healthy diet that does not spike our sugar levels. A simple process that helps get rid of the cravings.
