My Chihuahuas are Barking

Chihuahuas are a great dog breed. They are known to be the smallest of all dog breeds and even so, they do not understand how small they really are. They will not back down from a much larger dog, because they see themselves as a BIG dog. However as big they think they are, they do not make good guard dogs, but excellent "watch" dogs and will bark to let you know when someone is in your territory.(or theirs) Chis are extremely smart, and very loyal to their person. They will mostly pick out one but possibly two members of the family and become extremely attached. In my household, my female has decided that she owns me. Most chihuahuas prefer adults to children, and maybe because that's because of the way they are picked up. I know that with mine, they do not like to be held where they are on their back, but tolerate it at times if I want to hold them like a baby. They love being on laps or hiding under the covers. This breed does shiver some but that's normal. They not only shiver when they are scared, but when they are cold, or excited as well. Although they love to eat, they can be quite finicky and picky in their eating habits.
