Treo 600 and Treo 650
This is my fifth or so Treo, so I'm an experienced user. I like the size of the phone, the keyboard for typing emails, and that it syncs with Exchange keeping my inbox and calendar up to date. I wish it worked a little better with Exchange like updating emails that I have replied to on my Treo, so that my other email clients become aware. I'd say this phone has all the features in a pda phone that I use and want. Speakerphone, email and calendar support, Bluetooth, conference calling, games, and voice dial. The problem is the phone just doesn't work well enough. Like I said this is my fifth or so Treo. I started with the Treo 600, it had basic pda features, but no Bluetooth. The 600 was terrible and I had it replaced under the warranty program several times. My voice calls always had an annoying buzzing sound, the phone reset frequently, it would flat out freeze, and often just wouldn't work. This very painful when you use a phone as much as I do. So I was very happy when Cingular shipped me a Treo 650 to replace my 600. Score, or so I thought.
It turns out the Treo 650 isn't much better, except that it has Bluetooth support. This phone has similar issues. It locks up and become unresponsive, it resets, and people often complain that I'm in a wind tunnel when I'm talking to them. Even when things work right on the phone, they don't work well enough. For instance the speaker phone, unless the phone is right under my mouth people have a difficult time hearing me. When I use my Bluetooth headset it only works when I have my phone within two feet of my ear piece. I can't even put the phone in my pocket and have it work clearly enough. Then there is the issue of answering the phone with the Bluetooth headset. I have a Motorola headset, so maybe others are better, but it often won't pick up, so you have to answer the phone on the phone.
So now I'm left with a choice. I have about one and half years left on my Cingular plan. I can't say I'm happy with their service, but I've tried a few of them and none of them are great, so I don't think I'll change this part of my service, but I need to find a phone that works well with Exchange, speakerphone, voice dial (least important), conference calling, and works dependably. Any suggestions?

What PDA phone should I try next?
Unbelievable! I'll stay away from the 700p. Thanks. It was on my short list of pda phones, but I'll definately go with something else. I wonder how much switching from the Palm OS to the Windows hurt their ability to improve the reliability of the phone.
I had a Treo 600 until the touchscreen died and lost all my important information! I didn't realize that there were so many problems with it. I figured it was just too big for my tight pants :)
The 600 was particularly poor. I've switched to an 8700c Blackberry and I love it. Just wish it had a camera.
i recently got a Plam Treo 680 and so far its been pretty sweet. I have had a few issues with it wacking out on me for no reason, could be because i've been tinkering with programs on it. Anyways, Mr. Pages, do you know of any good sites or programs that i can get apps for my treo, preferably free. I dont like to pay for things i can download.
wow this is great

As a Treo user I concur with your statements. I too started with a 600 then progressed to a 650.
I can't tell what to buy but I strongly recommend that you DO NOT buy a Treo 700p - I've had it for a few weeks and found it to be buggier than the 650.
