NBA 2K10 One Minute Video Game Review

NBA 2K10 is the newest addition to the popular NBA series of games and is the best yet. Why? Because it incorporates better controls, better graphics, truer 'Signature Style' animation, and online compatibility with numerous features. Check out the automatic streaming of stats, news and actual match-ups, which means that your graphics and commentary remain relevant in-game.

Your team's player rosters and ratings are kept up-to-the-minute. Additionally, you are able to play online and compete against anyone, anywhere. Use 'My Player' mode to take the hard and triumphant road to NBA fame. Every detail is included when you use 'Signature Play', incorporating Signature Tendencies with Signature Style animations, and adding even more realness by using your favorite players' typical facial expressions to amplify the game's uncanny realism!

NBA 2K10 has definitely raised the bar. The only thing for you to do is raise the banner. Will you?

Available: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii

NBA 2K10 Has It All Right Out Box

If you remember what 2K Sports did with NHL 2K10, you'll love the fact it's now bringing all the features in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of NBA 2K10 to the Wii. You already know it's an unusual design philosophy when you're talking about Wii sport games anyway. You may have found online playability, true stimulation game playing, and deep career modes are usually not on the board for Wii development. This isn't happening with NBA 2K10 - you are going to discover it's all there, from My Player capabilities to on-line leagues - when it comes out of the box!

NBA 2K10 Tips for Wii

Actually, the only real change made to the regular NBA 2K10 formula that you will notice are the new controls. Because the Wii is built and based on motion-sensitivity, this plays a pretty big role in the basketball game. You will notice that most of the actions in NBA 2K10 need synchronous inputs from the nunchuk and Wii-mote. Consider the action involved in dribbling. You will have to hold the Z button, then advance the analog stick, and shake the remote to create any special moves. Choosing an icon for passing means you have to hold C, then use the d-pad arrows, and then the Z button to be able to make that pass. Other game movements, like shooting for the basket, are done exclusively with the Wii-mote.

For shooting the ball you will need to tilt the Wiimote up at the same time you have the rock. Since the shooting and pump faking are tied into the same controller movement, this is going to feel cumbersome to start with. You'll learn that pumping just takes a brief jolt to the Wiimote, and shooting requires a complete tilt.

Allows You to Create a Player

Don't be discouraged when you start playing NBA 2K10, as once you figure out the controls, the Wii will give you new visuals that will inspire you to check out other modes. My personal first choice is My Player, which is the one where you create a player, bring him through the various ranks, and hope you'll earn a position on a real NBA squad. The Wii mode is the same as you'll find other places, but you don't have as many hairstyle choices - there's only 3 styles to choose from and one one color is offered.

There's nothing different from other systems - one player on the court, and you are required to complete different objectives in each competition. You can also earn the usual skill points and increase your player's abilty with the usual drills list (shooting, rebounding, attacking the basket, stealing, etc) that are available to you. Once you're on the court, you'll notice the grading system for game play and teammates is the same as on Xbox 360 and PS3.

NBA 2K10 Pick Your Mode

Be assured that the modes you've been use to viewing from NBA 2K are also part of 2K10. You'll find The Association, Online Leagues, Rookie Challenge, Team Up Play, Season, and there's even the Blacktop Dunk contest - here you'll have to shake the Wiimote and nunchuk at the same time to control the various aerial actions.

Be prepared for the game play to feel like the previous NBA 2K10, other than the issue of pumping instead of just shooting. You'll probably find the dribbling doesn't feel as natural as it does with the IsoMotion (there's no dribble modifier that will allow it to happen more naturally) on other consoles, but you'll find the animations look quite fluid in practice. Some of the other visuals just didn't seem to hold up like they do on Wii, but that's probably to be expected.

NBA 2K10 and Field Depth on the Wii

Field depth also has it's place in the Wii version of NBA 2K10. You will notice some parts of the court are really sharp when others blur, and it was the same deal for the player closeups. One good thing was the framerate doing a finer job of holding up, probably due to the dampened graphics, then it has done on Xbox 360 and PS3.

If you enjoy competitive, non-stop, sports action in a video game,NBA 2K10 will suit you perfectly.

I'd like to hear your thoughts, so after you check it out, stop by and leave me a comment.

Enjoy!
