1. John Stockton- 15,806. Stockton played in the NBA from 1984-2003, his whole career as the point guard for the Utah Jazz. Stockton also has the current All Time NBA Record for steals.
2. Mark Jackson- 10,334. Jackson played in the NBA from 1987-2004. Jackson played for the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Toronta Raptors, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.
3. Jason Kidd. 10,199. Jason Kidd is a current NBA Player for the Dallas Mavericks. Kidd has also played for the Phoenix Sunsand the New Jersey Nets. Kidd will most likely pass Mark Jackson and move into second place all time in assists next year.
4. Magic Johnson- 10,141. Magic Johnson played point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1971 to 1996.
5. Oscar Robertson-9,887. Robertson played in the NBA for the Cincinatti Royals and the Milwaukee Bucks.
6. Isiah Thomas-9,061. Thomas played point guard for the Detroit Pistons from 1981 to 1994.
7. Gary Payton-8,966. Payton played point guard for the Seattle Supersonics for 12 years. He also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat for a few years. Payton is the only point guard to ever win the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year Award.
8. Rod Strickland-7,987. Strickland played point guard for many NBA teams including the: New York Knicks who he was drafted by, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trailblazers, Washington Bullets, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors, and the Houston Rockets.
9. Steve Nash-7,505. Nash is the current point guard for the Phoenix Suns. Nash also played for the Dallas Mavericks.
10. Maurice Cheeks-7,392. Cheeks spent 11 of his 15 NBA years playing for the Philladelphia 76ers. Cheeks also was a head coach for the 76ers and also for the Portland Trailblazers.

I agree that Magic was the best all around player on the list, Stockton was the best true point guard. And boy did I hate him. He killed my Kings all the time. Specifically, game five in the playoffs in the lockout season. He is second on the "Kill" list for Kings fans, right behind Robert Horry.
Good hub.
I rate Magic as the third or fourth all-time best player, but Oscar Robertson was pretty close. He's still the only player to average a triple-double for an entire season!
Oscar Robertson was amazing, but you've got to love Jason Kidd - still the best instinctive passer in the NBA today.
