New Delhi Television or the NDTV is a 24 hour English language news channel. It has many regular viewers and many are hooked and many are particularly fond of the channel. NDTV holds great interviews and has a brilliant programme called "Walk the Talk" hosted by Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in-Chief of ‘The Indian Express".
Its popularity and credibility has been in the decline in recent years. This has a lot to do with its association with "Communist Party of India". Many are of the opinion that it has become a Communist Party mouthpiece spilling venom against other political parties that do not agree with the Communist ideology. Others say that it is a low budget channel trying to win the hearts and minds of the English people, the so called Elite of India. Furthermore, it drives away brilliant journalists that have worked for the news channel.
Run by Prannoy Roy the brother-in-law of Prakash Karat who also happens to be the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Critics, allege that the very Communist Party of India who had shouted "China's chairman is India's chairman" when the Chinese attacked India, the very party who have alleged helped the Naxalite (Maoist) movement in India and have let illegal immigrants to settle down in India for vote bank politics and is responsible for the "Nandigram" massacre and the same party holding present Indian government ransom for the Nuclear deal between India and the USA. Many Indians agree that this Indian news channels have turned to a communist propagandist.
Critics of NDTV say;
It tries to force out words out of interviewees instead of actually airing their views unless it happens to be of the Communist Party of India. Its reports are biased towards non-Communist parties such as to the BJP, Janata Dal etc and helps casteist parties.
Prannoy Roy has been trying to project NDTV as India's CNN.
It rarely covers regional areas of India as it has limited funds hence its coverage remains issues relating to National politics and never International issues.
Low budget makes it present news such that it is sensational and insensitive.

NDTV sucks. It is funded by brother in law Prakash Karat. These people are like of the animal farm where people of India suffers while they have massed wealth of immense proportions.

when you critisize a party or some politician . you should understand that it is because of you the person is standing there. it is the publics fault. people just blindly vote , no one cares . for example in kerala , people elect the communist party still knowng that they have been the sole reason why kerala has turned into a dogs own country from god's own country . people have to wake up because parties like the communist are funded by china and the reason why communists objects to stuff that are good for our country is because the are operated from china . REMEMBER 1962 ???the communist party was pro china. wake up people and vote sensibly!!!!!!!

Death to this channel. This channel is a communist mouth piece.
I know that no one in my street subscribes to it.
We made sure of that. If anyone subscribed to this channel we got this information from the channel vendor who is also Nationalist and firmly opposed to this communist mouth piece.
We warned people that if they subcribed then there will be interruption and loss of service and they could also face assault.
Quitely, the entire street consisting of 50 families stopped subscribing to NDTV.
We are doing this operation in the next street also.

credit for being enlightening. it at least gives me a foothold into Indian politics about which I know nothing at all. I had no idea there was even a communist party presence there.
