Show up to your Superbowl Party in Unique Style

Its getting to be that time of year, the most watched event of every year is slowly approaching. Sure you can show up at your annual party wearing a Romo, or Brady or perhaps your local team who most likely didn't make it to the big game. But I always prefer to try and be a little unique and stick out a little from the crowd. My "Ocho Cinco" jersey is a great example of that. I have a Bengals jersey (the orange alternate and yes it is an Official NFL Jersey) that has Chad Johnson's nickname on its back. Its a very rare jersey to find and always gets a lot of complements and plenty of fun and jokes. With Ebay its been getting easier for me to find that unique jersey that lets me support my favorite fantasy players on my team, meanwhile wearing a high quality NFL football jersey. The Ocho Cinco jersey is definitely an attention getter and might be too loud for many. But if it interests you there's a good chance ebay might have it somewhere. I also have some other ideas for great jerseys for different styles. The craftmanship of an Official NFL Jersey is much better and looks genuine so it is important to look for the NFL tags when you purchase your new jersey. A real fan can tell the difference between an Official NFL Jersey and a fake replica pretty easy so make sure when you check out EBay that the jersey you're getting has the Official NFL tags.

One jersey that's been catching my eye lately (although hard to find a deal on) is the Marshawn Lynch Cal Bears jersey. Lynch has quietly had a great rookie year. It somewhat reminds me of when Emmitt Smith was a rookie, Barry Sanders stole all the headlines but Emmitt had the last laugh. I think the same may be true with Marshawn Lynch and the injury prone Adrian Peterson. Technically this is not a throwback jersey but its close enough. On the West Coast this might not be as rare an item but in the Midwest I know this jersey is unique and definitely on my short list of what I'd like to wear to the annual superbowl party. Hopefully the price drops soon or I might have to go to another choice.

Reggie Bush is always a very popular jersey, but I occasionally see a nice alternative from the norm on Ebay every once in awhile. This jersey is definitely not my style but might be a nice change up from the normal New Orleans Saints jerseys you always see. You can't really go wrong with Reggie, he is just an exciting player.

Another more mainstream, yet classy pick is the Tony Romo "Thanksgiving Day" jersey. I believe the Cowboys wore this throwback on Thanksgiving of 2006, and I have to admit its a pretty nice design. It features cowboy blue but a large portion of white on the upper part of the jersey. Ebay usually features a ton of these but again getting a good deal might not be as easy as some other less known players. This jersey is pretty ideal considering the Cowboys have a very good chance of being in the superbowl, so you can mock those evil AFC fans on the other side of the room in this attire.

Another very classy pick is the Art Monk throwback featuring the burgundy Redskin colors of the Joe Gibbs era...or the Joe Gibbs era when he was a great coach before he retired and came back and............

Art Monk personifies what football is all about and it is crime he is still not in the NFL Hall of Fame. This would probably be my second choice if I had to buy a new jersey today for the big game.

Another classic pick which isn't all that uncommon around here, but I'm assuming would be different in other parts of the world, are jerseys remembering the Great Walter Payton and the Great Gale Sayers. Two more players who built up the reputation of the NFL with their blood and sweat. Two football greats that will never be forgotten.

Sayers also authored or assisted in a great book about his life and his humbling knee injury that ended his spectacular career. The book is named I Am Third. A must read for any fan and a great, great story.

Another great classic is the Joe Namath Jets throwback jersey. I'm somewhat impartial to Namath, don't love him or hate him. But the old school Jets jerseys definitely have some classic style and are another good choice if you're trying to be a litte more classic.

And last but never least, a unique jersey from a unique playmaking individual, Primetime Neon Deion Sanders. None of his jerseys are anything too far out there but it is an umbrage to one of the most exciting corners/return men ever to play the game. Have to admire his willingness to try and play two sports on the same day also. Another plus with Deion, he was on so many teams you should have a wide variety of throwback jerseys to choose from.

Good luck and have fun this upcoming Superbowl. And above all, always be safe, if you're going to be drinking, make sure you have a safe, sober ride home.

(updated 12/18)

I also need to add one more person to this list. After seeing Adrian Peterson healthy again on Monday Night I think its impossible for me to leave him off this short list. If he stays healthy, he could one of the greatest backs of all time. I'm not a fan of the Minnesota purple but the Vikings mainly white jersey isn't a bad looking jersey at all. If I could I'd get a jersey like that, get Peterson's signature on it if at all possible, frame it, and sell it for a fortune in 15 years.

Walter Payton, not a Bears fans but that would be a cool jersey to have for anyone. I loved watching Walter play the game. He was an amazing player, and one of my all time favorites.

I keep trying to get memorabilia for him but its just too much money. Illinois has a cool program though, its a Walter Payton memorial plate with the 34 on it and I believe the proceeds go to an organ donor charity. Sweetness was the best though.

Let me know if you ever find a Cal Lynch jersey size Large....the navy one. I can only find this 2XL yellow one. Even if you find a Large yellow one let me know. I'm running out of luck

Yeah no luck on either of those fronts. I did find a Lynch Alternate Bills jersey that looks good and is blue but high priced. The Amazon ASIN wouldn't capture so I just threw a link below here to it. Good luck.
