Niche Store Writer

Niche Store Writer is a cool piece of software which allows you to develop content using templates and keyword tags. The product was designed to be used with EBay BANS (Build a Niche Store) Stores but in fact produces standard html so can be used with any application such as blogs and websites which allow you to post html. That does NOT include HubPages!

The Problem. Producing the Right Type of Content.

I am developing about 100 BANs EBay stores. Each store has a main page plus three specific content pages: each page focussing on a specific keyword (product). Each page needs unique content to allow Google to see unique content and that the site has "authority" on the specific keywords each page its targeting. That's where Niche Store Writer comes in.

Its often said that an author should write for their audience.but:

Who is the audience for my BANS site's content?

The obvious answer is the searcher who finds my blue widget BANS store by typing "blue widgets" into google.com; but this IS NOT CORRECT.

No the blue widget seeker I want to find a blue widget in one of the auction listings and click through to EBay to find their perfect blue widget and earn me my commission!

No the text on my BANS website's pages is for google's search bots. I want google to see lots of relevant, keyword rich text when it searches my site. Why? Because if google sees lots of relevant content they will rate my webpage as important, having "authority".

So what does the search engine want to see: good English; elegant phrases and correct syntax. Well no actually - it is after all just a computer algorithm: what it was to see is words that are relevant to the page: keywords. So you just write a paragraph repeating "blue widget" 100's of times? No that's called keyword spamming and will get you penalised pronto. So there is delicate balance between getting the right level of keyword and unique content between being seen as spamming the system

So the problem today is to right relevant content with the right keyword density in a time efficient way. Now of course you can write it by hand if you only have a few stores that's exactly what you should do: don't waste your money on Niche Store Wrier - just get writing! Seriously if you only intend on a few sites this product is not for you.

Niche Store Writer: In Action by Dave Kingston

What Niche Store Writer Does

Basically Niche Store Writer has two main functions:

First: it allows you to develop content with (unlimited) templates with a unique title and up to 15 unique keywords. In fact not just keywords - I got up to over 90 characters before I gave up - you could in fact put an entire paragraph in the tag if you wanted to.

That's not why I bought Niche Store Writer though - the cool thing is that once you create your unique content, with the combination of keywords and content then you get a % of keyword density for each keyword. Why is that important: one of the guaranteed ways to get penalized by Goo gle is to "keyword stuff" your content: you really only want a 3 - 5% of keywords in your text. Now I am sure with practice I could do this by eye, for one or two words, but doing it for four or fine? That alone was worth the purchase price for me.

How Niche Store Writer solves the BANS Content Creation Problem

The problem is to create unique content for dozens of pages on lots of diverse subjects. At the same time the content needs to be keyword rich, but not keyword stuffed. I want to product that text that is keyword focused, unique, reads naturally and most of all is FAST to create.

Before I bought Niche Store Writer it was taking me at least 4 hours to write the content for a BANS store. Crazy but true. So when I got the chance to buy the product pre-launch I grabbed the opportunity - after all time is money in this game! I cost my time at about US$25 /hour - that's what I earn in my day job, Niche Store Writer costs US$57 - so that's a little over 2 hours work it's got to save me to be worthwhile. Well on the first store: when I had to create the unique template I can use repeatadly and taught myself how to use the program, and chatted on-line with the developer, it took about 2 hours. The next one took 30 minutes - that is definitely value for money for me.

Example Output from Niche Store Writer

The Original Template with the Title and Tags underlined

Same template with tags relating to GOLF substituted

Same template again - this time with BALLROOM DANCING tags

Who is Niche Store Writer for:

  • some one who wants to produce a significant number of BANS stores someone who can see its application for producing unique, keyword rich html content.
  • someone who wants a simple, no nonsense program which does what it stays it does and doesn't require a 50 page manual to walk you through the manual.

  • wants a product which the developer backs and which will have forum and continuing support - all at no extra cost

Do NOT buy Niche Store Writer if:

  • you are planning on developing 1 or 2 content rich sites or blogs;

  • you are planning on developing a handful of BANS stores each on subjects you have lots of information on;
  • you intend to use it for spam or other illegal or offensive activities

  • you cant afford the $57

The Hard Sell!

Niche Store Writer costs $57. That's a one time cost, there are no on-going charges. . You can use Niche Store Writer to make as many pages you want - there are no limits. You will not be asked to pay for upgrades or support. .

There's a good explanation here http://courtneytuttle.com/2008/05/14/keyword-snipi of why quantity is good. Bascially while you are learning how to do keyword selection you want to spread your options: when some start paying you maybe concentrate more on those!

Lissie, thank you for this professional tool. It took me personally far too long to realize, what virtual real estates are.

I'd had a nice old blog and some other web presences in the form of web sites, which were key words optimized and one day I simply deleted them, because I hadn't realized their virtual value. That was a very silly behaviour of mine, which I could finally understand, now.

Our all Hubs need to be comprehended and need to be treated in the same manner as regular buildings. If niche market optimized and additionally monetized, they could be a really great assets which create a constant income.

In this hub you are showing and explaining a truly great tool for every serious Huber. It simply optimize our work to achieve as high impact as possible considering ON PAGE SEO (search engine optimization). Lissie, thank you!

Liss It is so good seeing you pop up all over the place :) do you have a site/blog on this 100 site project you have going? I to have started thinking more about what can I purchase to save time?increase output so indirectly increase traffic/sales I now know what Bans is :)

@Solarshingles - that's a very very good point NEVER delete your old sites! On thing that no -SEO optiisation can change is the age of a domain and older is definitly better!

@Elileen - partly I right how-to's because its a way for me to learn- and my experience that the best time to teach is when you still remember the learning process! Here's hoping the money gods agree :-)

@Neale - I have been thinking about a blog: but having refused to harvest email addresses to create "my list" which is a particularly annoying form of marketing - I realised that my list was right here on HubPages once my fan base hit 300 :-)

Wow Lissie, one hundred stores seems like such a big project but then I get to thinking how many hubs people here have and it is not a lot but it is a lot of work!

If I ever get as ambitious as you, this product sounds like a time saver.

Does the fact that products are changing frequently mean that you will have to alter your store pages on a frequent basis?

Lissie profile image

Lissie  says:

Donna the fact that EBay listings change all the time is an advantage: they automatically update your store's pages - just as they do on HP if you add them to your Hub. And google likes an updated page/site. The update is automatic and I admit to deliberating sorting the projects so the "closing soonest" are at the top - forcing the page to update more :-) There is risk if you get too specific that any 1 time there might be no listing - but its a pretty small risk if you just check the listing before you focus on it!

Got to laugh this is actually my 70th hub: so I am aiming for more stores than Hubs :-)

Hi Lissie,

Very good review of the Niche Store Writer and nicely presented I might add. Much success to you in your 100 BANS project. That's really the best way to go with the BANS software. BTW, how did you add the screenshots of the output created by this tool to your Hub?

Thanks for the info, Lissie. I haven't tried BANS yet, but it sounds interesting (I'll check out your other hub in a minute). If I do give it a go, then Niche Store Writer sounds like a very useful tool.

@outdoor junkie: thanks for visiting! Yes I think NSW is creating a bit of a buzz right now!

@IMHustle: I am no graphics guru so I keep it simple! I produced the output I wanted, I hit the screen capture button and pasted it into a graphics program and cropped the stuff that I didn't want! I use photoshop elements but gimp is free and does a good job for something so simple too.

@Caspar -thanks for visiting, yes it was designed to work for BANS but I can see it working for other applications too!

This looks good. I currently use phpBay right now so I set up my Ebay niche sites with Wordpress and write unique content for every single page. But if I ever decide to pick up BANS I will probably grab this too.

Are you planning on using the same template for all 100 sites? While there are word changes here and there, the duplicate content would leave a pretty big footprint if you used it on all 100. Are you planning to host all domains in a single account or are you spreading your hosting around? If you are spreading it around, I would use a brand new template for each hosting account to avoid Google making a link between your hosts, thus defeating the point of using multiple ones.

@DJ sleeping is optional? I amlucky to only work part-time which makes it easier!

@embitca: no I use different templates for different niches: also using long phrases as tags means that I can get the content up to 60% different. Also with BANS the content is only a small % of the total page so anything over 30% unique is probably OK overall. I am in the process of moving my hosting to a reseller account at Hostgator so tht I have better control over the individiual domains. I am a bit worried about them all on the same IP - but I can always change that later if I need to.

embitca profile image

embitca  says:

Thanks, Lissie, for explaining. 60% different is really impressive for a templating software. Yep, you can always get new IPs.

How do you find Hostgator load times for the BANS sites? I had to move my Ebay niche sites off Hostgator because they loaded incredibly slow. Moved them to dreamhost and they are fine. But my plain vanilla WP installs at hostgator work just fine. It was just when I added the Ebay stuff that it slowed to a crawl.

Lissie profile image

Lissie  says:

Still in the process of changing over to Hostgator so I havent seen for myself yet but I believe its good. BANS is a very fast script; puts few calls to the server - which apparently is good! I have heard that in contrast WordPress in general and phpBay in particular are resource hogs. The speed on dreamhost wasn't why I moved: it was because I really wanted a cpanel host because some of the tools to manage multiple domains only work on cpanel - also awstats which gives me good stats without having to register every site on Analytics which is a) nuisence and b) may be bad for your footprint!

The main concern with shared hosting is if 1 of your sites causes problems for the host through unexpected traffic or whatever the host will ban your entire account. With a reseller account (not a regular Hostgator account) each domain is treated as a separate case so doesn' t bring down the empire. It does of course cost a bit more!

embitca profile image

embitca  says:

Good point about shared hosting. How much does a reseller account cost? I had been thinking about upgrading to a VPN at some point, but maybe I should consider a reseller account as an alternative.
