Nashville Was Not Always Country

When you think of Nashville you think of country music. If you are trying to break through in the country music world everyone knows you go to Nashville. However, little known facts to everyone that Nashville, TN was not just country. Nashville's Music Row was actually started due to Elvis Presley - AKA "The King of Rock and Roll".

Elvis signed a contract with RCA records and at that point in time they knew that they there was a great need to have a recording studio in the Southeast and decided to open a branch in Nashville TN. It was in Nashville TN that Elvis recorded over 200 songs.

Nashville was quickly rising as one of the most major music cities in the US. While rock and roll music was dominating the airways and becoming really popular - a lot of this was contributed to Elvis - country music was fading pretty quickly.

In 1957 RCA records appointed a couple people to work on bringing country music back. Each having their own way they brought it back and softened the sound and Nashville is closely associated today with country music.
