Thank you both MrMarmalade and gabriella05!
Have you read Piers Anthony's "Tatham Mound"? It is a FANTASTIC source of information about Southeastern Tribes at the time of the arrival of the white man.
I also suggest that a tour of Mountville, AL. It's a great an informative restored pre-Columbian Muskogee Indian site.
I am a Creek Indian and a member of the Poarch Band of Creeks. The current address is 5811 Jack Springs Road, Atmore, AL 36502
Thank you for that infomration, bohica! Piers Anthony is a fantastic author and I will find that book. The next time I go thorugh Alamaba, I will surely visit Mountville. Thanks again.
Seems to me the most important Nation the Choctaws
are left off this website.
I am trying to locate the Choctaw Reservation in Georgia, the Mississippi Choctaw during Indian Removals.
Every website says Cherokee in reservations in georgia.
Could it be possible the Mississippi Choctaws are really Cherokee? Someone let me know your thoughts @ sweetascoco@yahoo.com
Oklahoma Choctaw nation: http://www.choctawnation.com/
Mississippi Choctaw nation: http://www.choctaw.org/
The Georgia band of Choctaw were moved to Mississippi; however, Choctaw had also lived in Alabama and Louisiana.
