You are so off base with these reviews. You better do some GOOD research. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get sued.

Cathy when you love the love of your life due to that fact your vet is knowingly perscrbing toxic foods like Science Diet you will understand why Susan spends her free time trying to help other pet owners. She also is spending her own money going to court in Florida she from Oklahoma like me trying to help all of us and ultimately maybe the pet food millionaires will think more about our pets and less about filling up there pocket books.

FYi Science Diet is now owned by Colegate Pamolive and they give tons of money to the vet schools so they will force there unhealthy products on our pets. My new vet doesn't even sell Science Diet. I just wish I had found Susan's before.

Have you read the 90 plus pages of the court records that tells how premium pet food companies are putting eutyhanized dog and cats in our love ones foods. Tha is sickening. Even more sickening is the American public is sitting back and allowing them to do that and saying nothing. God Bless Susan Peters and her family for standing up for the rest of us.

Michelle From Tu lsa, Oklahoma .

Hi Susan, I just stumbled upon your website today and I am intrigued and impressed by all of your hard work and research!! Ever since I discovered Innova cat food I have been obsessed with feeding my cats the best that I can reasonably afford. My mother always tells me that I spend way too much money on cat food for my two kitties, but when I go to the grocery store and see all of the junk fillers used in ALL of them (by-products & useless grains) I just CANNOT bring myself to feed it to my fur babies! I just CAN'T do it. Reading your website today made me feel relieved to know that I have had the right idea all along about pet foods.

Anyway, I have been searching your website for ratings on Innova (I know you have mentioned there have been some bad experiences with their manufacturing), but in general I was wondering what kind of grade you give Innova dry & canned cat food. The second brand I am considering is Eagle Pack.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work and insight!!

Hi Susan,

Can you please let me know where I can read more about pet food companies using our euthanized animals in pet food? I never heard of this and want to read the court records on this? Thank you.

Susan, LOVE your site, thank you for all you do! Do you know anything about the Wild Kitty Cat Food Kits? I have a diabetic cat who has been on the vets perscribed Hills MD diet for 2 years. I don't really trust that my vet is up on the newest nutrition findings of hi protein for kitties and would like to get away from any of the perscription foods (that still have grain in them). We give one insulin injection a day of 2/25 ml. He's had zero glucose in his urine stick a couple of times, and the other's times I "catch the pee" it reads just above 240. I feed a little raw chicken every couple of days, he LOVES it! This Wild Kitty brand has a kit that interests me very much. What are your thoughts please?

I am in agreement with what cathyvctr@yahoo.com said in her post (pasted below) and also what: guess says in their post!

"You are so off base with these reviews. You better do some GOOD research. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get sued."

I've read thru some of your posts and have to wonder if you are associated with the "itchmo" people and message board. Readers beware of a lot of their content!

I worked for Natura a while back and they are a company who puts out safe, natural, healthy and NATURAL products. They also have a lot of information on their website; they don't hide things like most other companies do. How do I know this? Because I used to get calls from people wanting to compare specific foods and we spent the time looking into their request most of the time. I never knocked other manufactures but did point out some ingredients that they may wish to research on their own and make their own decission from what they learned. Sure, I can preach to people all day long but not every food is right for every pet and not every pet will eat every "good for it" food. The owner or human needs to make their own choices. If your feed your pet good food, it shows in their coat, eyes, health and activity.

So, some of your statements that I totally disagree with are:

You say Menu foods had a recall but Natura did not. True, they use a Menu facility but it was not one that was involved in the foods that sickened/killed so many animals. Natura does not use Menu to purchase its ingredients. They have regular suppliers that adhere to their guidelines, ingredients are tested before they are sent to be manufactured. Natura has their own staff onsite to oversee the making of their foods. That Susan is how they avoided any of their foods being recalled.

They recently posted in the "news" section on their website: www.naturapet.com that they promise zero ingredients from China in their foods. (Jan 21, 2009)

The manufacturing plant has many certifications, one being they are organic certified. And to quote Reuters "most recentlyincluding ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management compliance. The only pet food manufacturer in the United States to receive this superior distinction, Natura ensures its products meet strict standards for food safety starting with raw ingredients and ending with finished products on store shelves." http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS24

And as for the class action lawsuit; I have to ask you this. Did you at all check with the company for their side to this? You must not have because they have a statement that they will send to anyone who inquires. They were mistakenly named in that lawsuit.

And lastly, the issue you have regarding them being sneaky with ingredients like natural flavors. They tell you on their website, look in the tools & research tab then choose the ingredient list/wizard. Natural flavors comes from the cooking process, same as if you were cooking and were able to make a soup stock from the drippings.

It is postings like yours who scare others into the wrong direction. I hope you do your homework before you trash good companies such as Natura.

Sincerely,

Tina- Tater's Mom

Thanks so much for your comments Tina - Tarter's Mom. It kind of freaked me out reding Susan's analysis, because I just recently put my (almost diabetic) cat on the Evo dry food in hopes of helping his high glucose numbers. I did try the wet food, but he didn't like that. (But he seems to like Merrick.) It's people like you steering people back into the right direction from the people scaring us into bewilderment. I looked to see which foods Susan approves, but I couldn't find anything. It's like anything you pick from her list, there is something wrong with it? Anyway, I loved all your thought out commentary. Well done. And thanks for giving me peace of mind in my journey to help my kitty.

Cheers,

Rene

Is Evo beef (or others) canned cat food safe for a diabetic cat as an exclusive diet?

Taters Mom profile image

Taters Mom  says:

All EVO canned formulas are safe to feed a diabetic cat or dog. The 95% meat formulas are not formulated to meet the AAFCO feeding requirements for kittens, just adults. But the Evo Cat/Kitten (purple label that matches the bag) is fine for both cats and kittens.

And to Kriss- please call the Natura customer service at: (800) 532-7261 Good to note the following: between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (CT)

You can also email them your questions (takes usually 1-3 business days for reply) and here is link to their contact page: http://www.naturapet.com/about-natura/contact.asp

And I can tell you that I know of many pets who have benefited from EVO with their diabetes. Many cats can reverse it but dogs are not able to. Check their posted news in the "about us" tab. Here is a link to an article by Dr. Delaney: http://www.naturapet.com/images/press/carnivore-me

And good luck to you with your kitty! :)

Tater's Mom,

Tina
