Some Things to Think about Regarding Back Pain
If you are one of the many people that suffer with back pain then you will know what little relief there is from this condition; some medications can provide back pain relief in the short term, although none currently exist that remove pain completely. Whilst prescription pain relief pills may in fact dull the pain to a manageable degree, they do not treat the root cause of the problem.
Many people with spinal problems become addicted to the medication that relieves the back pain but this should really be the responsibility of a doctor. The back is under a constant strain throughout our lives and whilst it is very strong, spinal injury is one of the most common conditions around the world and even sitting incorrectly can create a long term problem.
Most spinal problems are a result of lifting heavy weights but they can also be caused by lifting even light weights incorrectly, the pain is usually experienced in the lower back. Fortunately there area number of natural back pain relief remedies that can help without a reliance on prescription medication. Tense muscles in the back can be eased just by gentle stretching; this provides relief and is simple to carry out.
On the other hand reflexology is an alternative medical practice. Pressure is applied to the feet to relieve pain in different parts of the body, it works very well in relieving back pain. Relaxing muscles and increasing the effectiveness of the circulatory system are two other reasons to use reflexology.
Acupuncture is used frequently by people suffering spinal agony by giving them back pain relief just as it has for thousands of years, although, only recently in the West. If you follow Traditional Chinese medicine then you will know that they believe all people have a unique energy force running through their body called qi or chi. Chi is blocked in a sick body and needles inserted into specific points, ease many types of pain. There are large numbers of people that use acupuncture on a regular basis and claim it works well for them providing pain relief; especially those who have what is termed a chronic condition.
Another ancient oriental discipline, Tai Chi is similar to many types of Yoga but the movements are much slower and deliberate. The most important aspect of tai chi is that almost anyone can participate as it uses gentle breathing exercises and techniques to help relax the body.
Natural back pain reliefshould really start with more frequent exercise which will not only help ensure the back is more flexible but help prevent spinal problems.
