As I've mentioned before, I'm a 34DD. I am quite conscious of my breasts, as I do not want them to start sagging until I'm too old to care. (If that ever happens.) I've also done an article on the pros and cons of wearing a bra, citing conflicting studies that basically tell us that no one really has a clue as to whether or not wearing a bra can prevent sagging breasts.

One thing is for certain, though: the right exercises will both firm and lift your girls and no, you will not look like a pro bodybuilder afterward. Not even a little bit -- that is a myth, so just forget that ridiculous old wives' tale. Now, that's not to say your breasts might not get a tiny bit smaller. They might; and they might not. If they do, it's not going to be enough for anyone to notice, unless you're also actively trying to lose weight at the same time.

Before we get into the exercises, it's important to note that these are very easy to do. We're doing them on the stability ball, which is far easier (but just as effective) as the traditional methods. These are easy on your back and butt, while still giving you a good foundation to work from.

The first video shows the technique on the stability ball. The second shows a different exercise on a bench -- don't worry, you can do the same thing on the ball. If you prefer lying on the floor or bench, that's fine, too.

Stability Ball Dumbbell Presses

Step one

Your back, shoulders and head should all be resting on the stability ball. Your legs should be out in front of you, with your feet flat on the floor.

Step two

Hold the dumbbells close to your chest, knuckles facing the ceiling. Extend your arms toward the ceiling until they're straight. Bring the weights closer together, but try to avoid letting them touch.

Step three

Slowly lower them back to your chest and repeat step two.

Stability Ball Dumbbell Fly

Step 1

Same position as with the dumbbell chest presses.

Step 2

Grip the dumbbells in the same manner, with your knuckles facing the ceiling. Extend both arms -- this will be your starting position.

Step 3

Slowly spread your arms to about chest-width. Hold for a count of 5. Next, slowly spread them again until they're at 45 degree angles with your torso. Hold for a count of 5. Next, lower them until the dumbbell is about even with your shoulder.

Step 4

Extend your arms toward the ceiling again and repeat step 3.

Good tips, and great exercises. Most women don't use their pecs much, so you will probably feel sore the first time or two. That's good though...you know it's working ;)

would doing push up have the same effect?

Yes, but traditional push ups are not easy for most women, so I dont mention them in the article cos I think most women wouldnt want to do them. *These* are very easy.

Close grip bench presses require a bit of practice and getting used to, but they are excelllent for sculpting the inner "sweep" of the pecs. Very important for that lift, i would think.

Lovely tips! I agree that traditional push-ups are a pain; I can't even hold the up position for more than a minute. I will try these the next time I go to the gym :)

Thank you so much Isabella!

I'll definitely try these exercises for a lift.

Also, do yuo mean traditional push-ups or yoga push-ups (where the elbows are kept close to the body)?

Also, are these exercises to be done everyday or 2-3 times a week for the results your're talking about?

I'm 20 years old and a 34DD. i've have had back problems due to my size. Will this exercise held relieve some of the presure from my bra straps?

A great article, I can't wait to start trying these out.

Amanda~~You can do these exercises on the floor, or lying over a chair. A dumbell literally costs about $3 at walmart, nbut if you can't swing that, shampoo bottles, or canned goods (such as a can of tomoato juice) can be substituted, just make sure it's something you can get a good grip on!

Ha ha, what a great article :]

Thanks!

Will this help sagging breasts? Mine have been literally hanging since I got them about 13 or so. Will these exercises help them to become perky or atleast more shape without as much sag. :(

Thanks!

Good sequence ....something else to add to it ....bring your elbows and hands together chest level in front of your face hold for 15 ...raise ...hold for 15 you get the idea . For added punch combine with wall squats !
