Natural Cleaning Agents for Your Home Cleaning

If you want to make your home clean and germ free without spending a lot on expensive house cleanser, here are some of the natural cleansing agents you can use.
Baking Soda
- Silver polisher. Line a basin with a durable aluminum foil, place the silvers that you want to polish, make sure the all the silvers in the basin touches the foil. Pour boiling water on the silvers make sure that the silvers are covered by boiling water and add a cup of baking soda. The dirt and tarnish will jump from the silver to the foil right away. If there are remaining tarnish on the silver after the procedure just make a paste of hot water and baking soda and polish the silver using a clean clothe.
- Tile cleanser. Mix 2 cups of baking soda with half cup of lukewarm water. Spray or brush the mixture into the dirty tile and scrub until sparkling clean.
- Oven cleanser. Make a paste of baking soda and hot water. Dab the paste with a sponge and wipe the stain and dirt until clean.
- Upholstered couch deodorizer. Sprinkle baking soda onto your upholstered couch to deodorize it. Let is stay there for 2hours and then vacuum it.
- Barbeque grill cleanser. Soak the barbeque grill in a basin with baking soda. Then rinse after 1-2 hours.
- Combs. You can also use baking soda to clean your combs and brushes.
- Baking soda to remove crayon or ink from walls. Make a mixture of 2tbsp baking soda and 1cup of water. Dip a clean white clothe in the mixture and rub the crayon or ink on the wall. Remove the excess baking soda on the wall with the same cloth.
Lemon
- Lemon as furniture polisher. Combine 2tbsp of olive oil and 1tbsp of lemon juice. Dab a dry clean cloth in a mixture and use it to polish wooden furniture. You can keep the remaining mixture in a glass jar and place it in the refrigerator for future use.
- Ink stain remover. Put a drop of lemon juice directly on the stained area of the cloth. Let is stay there overnight then wash it with detergent powder. Repeat the procedure if the stain does not completely disappear.
- Rust remover. Make a paste mixture of salt and 1tbsp of lemon juice. Rub the mixture on the rusty area using clean dry cloth.
- Fabric whitener. Soak white fabric in a pot of boiling water with lemon for 5mins, turn off the fire and when it cool transfer it to a basin and let it stay there for a few hours or overnight, then wash as usual.

Borax
- Borax as bleaching substitute. Add one quarter cup of borax to two cups of water to make a bleach substitute.
- Borax as toilet bowl cleanser. Just pour one quarter cup into your toilet bowl to help clean and deodorize it. Brush the toilet bowl to help loosen the dirt and let the borax stay there for an hour or overnight. Flush when done.
- Borax to remove mildew. Mix 1cup of vinegar, 1cup of borax and 2cups of water. Pour the mixture in the dirty area and let it stay there for at least 10mins and then scrub with a brush or cloth. Repeat if mildew is not removed from first application.
- Borax as disinfectant. Mix 1/2cup of borax with 1gallon of hot water. Wait till it cool then strain and pour in a spray bottle. Borax is a natural mineral that kills molds and bacteria.
- Borax as blood stain remover. Mix 1quart of borax with 2cups of cold water. Rinse stained fabric in cold water and scrub in warm water with your hands. Then dip the clothe in the borax solution and wash by hand.
Salt
- Salt as mild stain remover. Remove mild stain like perspiration marks on clothing by presoaking the fiber in salt water for 2hour or overnight.
- Salt as fabric softener. Add 1 cup of salt to your regular washing, this will help soften fabrics and new jeans.
- Salt to remove coffee or tea stain on the inside of a teapot. Prepare 1cup crushed ice, 1tbsp water and 4tsp of salt, mix all together and pour in the teapot. Gently swirl until clean, then rinse.
- Pot cleanser. Sprinkle the surface of the pan with rock salt. Rub salt into the stain until the stain disappear.
White Vinegar
- Vinegar as leather polisher. Dampen a clean clothe with vinegar. Wipe it on the leather until it becomes shiny again.
- Vinegar as window cleaner. Make a mixture of 1 cup vinegar with 2 gallons of hot water. Place it in a spray bottle when it's warm. Spray to clean windows and mirror.
- Vinegar as coffee stain remover. Mix 1tsp of white vinegar in 1quart of cold water. Put the mixture on the stained area and wipe with clean cloth to remove the stain. Wash the fiber to remove the stain completely.
- Vinegar to reduce pet's urine odor in the carpet. Mix 1cup of vinegar with 1cup of warm water. Spray the mixture in your carpet. This will reduce the urine odor on your carpet.
