We all know the saying that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well it is very true when it comes to dealing with skin problems like acne. You should include apples in your diet as they are a natural source of vitamin C and A.
All you do is put the apple in a blender and voila you have one of the best kept beauty secrets. Spread apple pulp on your skin but avoid your eyes and mouth then relax for 20 minutes and let the natural disinfectant go to work. Rinse the apple away and apply moisturizer afterwards.
Other natural remedies that work a treat on acne are:
Cucumber
Cucumber has a natural cooling effect so is perfect if your pimples have come out in force. Rosemary has antiseptic qualities although be sure not to use too much.
Push a small portion of cucumber through a blender. Add a drop of rosemary oil. Whisk in an egg white and smooth over your face again avoiding the eyes and mouth. Wash off after 15 minutes with some damp cotton wool.
This works a treat on back acne as well although it would be wise to have your partner put it on for you- egg whites get very sticky!
As a complete aside, if you know anyone that suffers from itchy exzema - egg whites work a treat for that too.
Steam facial
My gran swears by this one (she is 94 years old and has the softest skin). Steam is a wonderful way to deep cleanse your skin but it should never be used by someone who has broken veins or a tendancy to Rosacea.

A steam facial using mint and thyme is best as they are antibacterial so perfect for problem skin which needs to be kept very clean. it is very easy to grow both thyme and mint so there are no excuses!!! All you do is boil up some water with a couple of handfuls of mint combined with a teaspoon of thyme. Let it cool slightly as steam burns are not an attractive feature.
Once cooled slightly, put your face over the bowl and a towel over your head and let the steam work its magic. You should feel hot as you need to sweat and open those pores allowing the trapped dirt and debris to escape.
