Natural heartburn cures are wonderful when you've found the right one, but the condition can be caused by a number of problems and each one requires a different treatment. Some heartburn natural cures target people who are lacking stomach acid (drink one tablespoon of cider vinegar) and others target those who suffer from an excess (sit upright, chew on a boiled sweet).

As a result, trying out all of the natural cures for heartburn at once will mean that they counteract each other and give you even worse heartburn than you were suffering from before. If you are unable to find out the cause of the problem then try natural heartburn cures one by one. Try the ones that change little habits first, such as avoiding eating in any other position than sitting upright, going to sleep propped up with a lot of pillows, stopping smoking or drinking alcohol etc. and see if it gets any better. If these things don't work then start trying out actual remedies, such as freezing chunks of rhubarb and chewing/sucking them, sucking boiled sweets, eating a banana, drinking lots of cool, filtered water or drinking nettle/ginger tea.

If you do find that one heartburn natural cure makes a difference to your condition then stop trying out new ones. Persist with this particular one and see if it gets better over the course of one week. You may find that continuing with one particular cure means your heartburn gets progressively less severe. If that particular cure works, but doesn't improve over time then keep it as a quick fix, but keep trying out new ones to find one that will make your condition more manageable over time.

Keep an eye out for heartburn natural cures and keep working through them until you find one that works, because you are guaranteed to find at least one.
