Natural Health for Cats
58How We Love Our Pets!!
I have two cats. Shadow, my old one, thinks she is a person. She was given to me as a birthday present almost 15 years ago. She was 4 weeks old and fit in the palm of my hand. She was adorable!! Shadow is completely black, no white at all. She tops the scale at 10 pounds. She has bright yellow eyes.
When I first got her, she had been abandoned by her stray mother. We don't know what happened to her. Shadow was born in the back seat of an abandoned car. Someone heard the kittens and was watching out for them. When the mother stopped coming around, this person took the kittens in and bottle fed them. He figured they were about 3 weeks old then.
When I got her about a week later, she was loaded with fleas. I treated her and then, because she was so small, I decided to rince the flea medication off her with warm water. As I was scooping the water under her chin, she inhaled some and stopped breathing. I panicked! We laid her out on the kitchen table and started pushing on her side. Finally, she sputtered and started breathing!!! Thank God!!
I thought I would have to bottle feed her, but, she climbed right in the dish with the canned food and ate. She never messed in the house either. Even at 4 weeks old. I made a litter pan with very shallow sides. She would go in and sniff around and because she was so young, she had a wobbly head. It would bob and she would get litter on her nose. Then her tongue would come out to fix that and she would get a mouthful. So, I finally put newspaper in the box until she had better control of her head bobbing.
She used to love riding around on a dust mop. She was and is SO cute!!!
I remember the first night I had her. I was home alone and I made her a bed in the kitchen. She had access to food, water and her litter pan. I went upstairs to bed. I didn't want her sleeping with me because she was so small. I was afraid I would roll over on her and squish her. I was almost asleep when I heard a small noise and then a tiny meow. I turned the light on and there she was, clinging to the side of the bed. I was amazed, still am as a matter of fact. She had climbed over the barrier in the kitchen, climbed the stairs and was now trying to climb up the side of the bed. So, of course, I helped her and she slept with me. Isn't it amazing how as young as she was, she still found me and did whatever she had to to be with me.
My Other Kitty
Now, Kristen. She is a long haired calico. She came to live with me when I re-married. She was part of the package. She and Shadow tolerate each other, but, they are not friends! Kristen is 10. She tops the scale at 13 pounds. She loves to play and hunt. Unfortunately, she was badly injured last year and we have decided to make both our cats stay indoors. No more hunting.
So, in telling you all about my kitties, I wanted to tell you about this product I started giving them. When Shadow was 13, she started having difficulty jumping up onto things, like the table to look outside. I began giving them both this product. I started seeing a difference in Shadow, right away. I have not noticed any change with Kristen. Shadow has what we call "spaz attacks" where she will suddenly race through the house, spin around and race back the other way. She will play with a toy and I have seen it batted so hard and high that it lands in the bathroom sink. In a flash, Shadow is right up there getting it out of the sink so she can continue playing with it. It is SO cute!! Remember, she's almost 15 years old!
This product has restored her youthfulness! She is acting like she did 8 years ago. People are amazed when I tell them she's 14 and a half. She looks like a kitten. Check out some pictures of both of them. Aren't they adorable?
